Clearing land mines is a dangerous and costly task.

A noble cause. I wish him all the best.

A good choice by the UN to pick such a popular, high profile English speaker to promote the cause. Few others have the global reach and recognition necessary for the role.

“Along with moviegoers worldwide, I have been on the edge of my seat watching Mr. Craig, as James Bond, defuse ticking time-bombs with seconds to spare.

Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery maybe....but not Mr.Craig....
    I think.......almost sure...I might be guessing....

    All time favourite Bond line....
James Bond: ...Do you expect me to talk?
Auric Goldfinger:... No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!

    @6
    hmm...
Roger Moore had all the smooth talk, but Sean Connery had all the action.

The modern Bond is closer to the books, (have you read them?), which are much more dangerous, edgy and dark than any of the films, ever.
The original Casino Royale book starts with a deeply disillusioned Commander Bond, who wishes to leave the 'Service'.

great stuff, better than the films, From Russia With Love is a Classic. (IMHO)

    just sayin' like...

Can't say i've ever heard him in any of his interviews ever mention a deep yearning to rid the world of landmines. I suppose the rich need a philanthropic hobby.

Sounds like George Cloonie's project to return the Elgin Marbles to Greece from the British Museum, ignoring the fact that if they hadn't have been removed by Elgin, the Venetians would have destroyed them, also ignoring the fact that museums in the US and all over Europe contain artifacts from ancient Greece, what about them?

Actors are just actors, they should just stick to that.

    Well said.
A lot like Sean Connery and the SNP.

All those opinions on J,B, actors, films, interesting, if you like.
But the issue of land mines that kill people long after the war in their territory ended, is of real importance. Give it some thought, please.
