    An embarrassment of riches.

Do the Falkland Islanders have a sovereign wealth fund?

If they did set up a sovereign wealth fund you can bet the Argentine government would make every effort to confiscate it.

A good investment would be to buy River Plate or Boca Juniors - purely for its amusement value.

UK will use these revenues to increase the military Budget.

    Meanwhile:

NHS death rate is one of worst in the West.
Death rates in NHS hospitals are among the highest in the western world, shock figures revealed yesterday.

British patients were found to be almost 50 per cent more likely to die from poor care than those in America.

They have five times the chance of dying from pneumonia and twice the chance of being killed by blood poisoning.

Experts say that, despite recent improvements, NHS death rates still outstrip those in many other European countries.

    Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2418250/NHS-death-rate-worst-West-Patients-50-likely-die-neglect-US-says-study.html#ixzz3YbZSNM6G

The NHS’s medical director will spell out the failings of 14 trusts in England, which between them have been responsible for up to 13,000 “excess deaths” since 2005.

Prof Sir Bruce Keogh will describe how each hospital let its patients down badly through poor care, medical errors and failures of management, and will show that the scandal of Stafford Hospital, where up to 1,200 patients died needlessly, was not a one-off.

Scotland has one of the lowest life expectancy levels in the EU, according to new figures from the Scottish government
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-12898723
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether it is deaths from cirrhosis, drug abuse, lung cancer, murder or suicide, Glasgow's mortality rates are easily the highest in Britain, and among the highest in Europe. Life expectancy at birth in Glasgow is the lowest in the UK – more than six years below the national average for Glaswegian men (71.6 years, compared with a UK average of 78.2 years), and more than four years below average for Glasgow's women (78 years, compared with the UK average of 82.3). And because Glasgow is home to more than 10% of Scotland's total population, with nearly 600,000 people in the city itself, and more than a million in the greater Glasgow area, Glasgow's problems are very much Scotland's problems.

“It's a human tragedy on a massive scale,” says Gerry McCartney, an epidemiologist at NHS Scotland. His colleague, David Walsh, a lead researcher at Glasgow Centre for Population Health adds: “You are talking about thousands of people dying before their time.”

Using the wealth of resources in the vast, VAST, VAST British territories of land and sea in the S. Atlantic/Antarctic, to pay for more and better missiles to point at Argentina is virtuous to say the least.

The UK certainly compares favourably with the description of Argentina given here, by some posters who live there.

Positively the land of milk and honey.

With an Empire in the S. Atlantic/Antarctic.

@6. What's going to end? Have you managed to construct new hi-tech canoes? Do you have a fleet of stealthy hang-gliders?
@8, 10. I don't think you understand the courage of the British people. Just as in the days of the Empire, when valiant British sailors and soldiers fought against impossible odds (see Ladysmith, Mafeking, Rorke's Drift, Trafalgar), ordinary British people continue to die for their country. They would like to be saved but, hey, everyone dies sometime. See there's the difference between Britain and latam. Guts and gutless.

Here's a thought you should carry with you. In 1982, the U.S. Navy said that it was impossible, that's the word they used, impossible for Britain to take the Falkland Islands. Britain, initially, deployed 1/4 of the number of combat aircraft as argieland. Eventually, that changes to 1/3. Careful research shows that Britain landed fewer combat troops than argieland had in place. Here are a couple of important questions to which you 'may' know the answers. Who surrendered? Who won the war?

Shall I carry on? Whose economy is in better shape? Can you compare inflation rates? Who loses at the WTO? Who has most court judgments AGAINST them? Who has the biggest debts that it refuses to pay? Who provides the least social care for the REAL owners of the country?

Your concern for our wellbeing is very, very touching, but quite unnecessary.

Given the complete mess your country (I presume you’re an Argy) is in, you will understand why we will follow our own advice.

    BANG!!!!

Much better than buying some scanner or other for the Dribleys, eh.

    With no military value whatsoever.

Not going to kill many Argys with one of them, unless perchance it happens to fall on one.

Paulie- do you know what is so funny about fisheries? FIG satellite tracks all our licensed vessels and if it ses them popping over the lin e and fishing illegally in Arg waters - that ship then usually gets that part of its catch confiscated when they come back to Stanley.
that fish then is there for Argentian to come and collect - or FIG can sell ti and credit the money to Argentina - but guess what - when our Fisheries send the info to yours - ours never receive a reply because we apparently do not exist! - so guess what - FIG usually ends up keeping the money! You are such a kind and generous lot!!!!!!!!!!!!
