During the Election campaign the Falklands have rarely been mentioned, and will not deflect the political parties from discussing poverty and other issues in the UK.
In Argentina discussing the Falklands is far more effective as a method of distracting the electorate than it is in the UK.
The Falklands are discussed more where they actually matter, in the Falklands themselves.
I expect when I parade the Islands flag, mounted high on the tractor cab around my fields and surrounding villages on 14th June, that most of the locals will display absolute bemusement, so your theory that the Falklands issue is used as a smoke screen to obscure the UK electorate's concerns, is crap.
