Argentina's oil and gas government managed corporation YPF announced the discovery of a new oil field in Los Caldenes, in Patagonia Rio Negro province, with resources estimated in 40 million oil barrels. Manzano Grande x-1 is the second “discoverer well” in this block of 115 square kilometers located north of the Cinco Saltos town. Read full article

May 26th, 2015 - 07:03 am - Link - Report abuse 0When YPF was owned by Spanish-based Repsol, production was stagnant in spite of the country's growing need for energy.
Since the country took control of the company, investments have been intensified. The discovery in Los Caldenes is to be celebrated as one more step in Argentina's path to energetic self-sufficiency.

Ask yourself these questions:
Why didn't they release the open hole logs?
Or conduct a dst and televise it?
When (if) the current set of thieves leave power the next group will have to audit YPF, ANSES, BCRA, ETC - to see if anything actually ever did exist.

Whoopdedoo Argentina that will stiff it to the FALKLANDERS as they have only discovered 10 times that in Sea Lion field and we expect more. Tom tittie.
May 26th, 2015 - 04:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Don't you hate the taste of sour grapes? Argentina is well on its way to energetic self-sufficiency and all we read here is cynicism, bitterness, and impotent rage. Instead of taking a read of what's really happening, most habitués here express wishful thinking in hopes it will become reality. Just like doggies yapping at the moon!
May 26th, 2015 - 05:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And when do they begin pumping, on this field or the previous discovery?
May 26th, 2015 - 05:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That really is the question.
When Argentina is a least heading towards self-sufficiency in oil/gas, currently its deficit is increasing, is the time to say YPF are winning this.
@5. Don't think so. Argieland has had this 'field' since 1999. Nothing and suddenly there's millions of barrels of argie fart. 40 million barrels of argie oil. Except that the Falklands is looking at a minimum 400 million barrels. From just one field. Which doggie is yapping, Fido?

Just look at the picture and wonder, is this not man ( with cameras and microphones stuck in his face) not just doing this to show the masses that at least they have some oil in Argentina and it is not just a myth. It will be many years until Argentina is self-suffient in energy, you still import electricity from Uruguay and still have not paid for it. Typical Argie ( same as CFK ) look at me,look at me syndrome, a sign of someones inadaqasey.

Another logro of the Decada Ganada!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the contrary, the more oil Argentina finds, the less you need to yap about stealing the Falkland Islander's oil.
Why do you call the Falkland Islands 'Sour Grapes'? (Bad Vines=Mal Vinas)?
Is that because Argentines want to make the Falklands as sad and miserable as Argentina-i.e lots of great resources, so instead of use them let's (Argentina) fuck up our country instead.
If you lot took over the Falklands, rather than make it better, it would be totally fucked within 5 years thanks to the Peronist mentality of self destruction.
I give you this, at least the historic shipwrecks in Stanley Harbour would be added to by an extra 10 Argentine Navy ships sinking there, through lack of basic maintenance, so I guess the tourist trade for ship spotters might increase.
I have a great idea- as you Argentines are full of sour grapes, why don't you rename Argentina, Malvinas?
The name would be more suitable for your peronist psychology.

May 29th, 2015 - 12:34 am - Link - Report abuse 0Daniel Scioli of FpV leads with 33.1 per cent of intention of vote.
Follows Mauricio Macri of PRO with 32.2 per cent.
Sergio Massa is now trailing at 13.8 per cent.

Scioli has gained 10 points in two months. Of course, opinion polls are just that and that much can change until the October presidential election. However, the progression clearly favours the FpV.
Clarin, March 25:
Macri: 26.4 per cent
Massa: 24.2 per cent
Scioli: 23.1 per cent

Not looking too well for the opposition. Many Argentines appreciate the work done by Nestor and Cristina, in spite of relentless attacks and blatant lies published by dominant media outlets.
