All the optimism surrounding Brazil's economy appears to have dissipated in a few short years. Shame really but Brazilians should have got rid of Dilma when they had the chance. She has failed to get rid of the stench of corruption and has shown weakness by allowing her Country to become controlled by Argentina.
Jun 13th, 2015 - 09:41 am - Link - Report abuse 0What she and the Chief Crook of Brazil, the one and only Lula, should have stated was that all this austerity was down to lining Lula and DumbAss's pockets. I mean to say, who could possible object to that?

Jun 13th, 2015 - 12:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Anyhoo, This is playing out just like I said it would. In the end the Marxists will revert to type and try to save the economy by printing money. You can't cut off the slum dwellers free $ and expect them just to sit back and take it.
They're playing a dangerous game of bribing the people to stay quiet.
It won't last long
Onc of them will give out
This will end badly.
Wait and see.
Haha! Haha ha!

Time to face the truth.
Game over. I said it would never work. It never has, and never will.
Socialists love poor people, they always create more of them.
Finally ran out of other people's money, even including the illegal siphoning of Petrobras.
No where left to turn now for the blasted PT.
;-)
My father beat you that day. hahahaha

Yeah, tight the budget now, then wait until elections time to start overspending again, exactly the way Lula did it to win a second term, exactly the way he did to help Dilma win, exactly the way Dilma did it to win a second term.

The fact that the fat D abandoned the summit in Brassels to attend the PT Convention, says a lot about her lack of concern for Brazil.....the f*cking convention was more important. Her speech - at the convention, well understood - said the measures are needed to protect the party’s broader goals of lifting the poor through expanded social welfare spending.....what bullsh*t !! their sole interest is to try to regain popularity by throwing more money at the poor , under the title of welfare, so that they can perpetuate themeslves in power .....but even that might be becoming more difficult now, in view of the fact that the so-called 'fiscal adjustment' she is promoting, while cutting enormous chunks out of crucial investments to improve public health and education, is going nowhere near government expenses......39 ministries, 110,000 commissioned jobs in the Federal government, those are sacred cows, just like fat D thinks she is.

as much as I loathe typing your 'shitty' name, you don't need to tell us you are a f*cking petista....I think everyone who has ever attempted to read the shit you write, has already realized that.
Do you are asshole, or is the nickname ?
Until Brazil makes the hard reforms required it will continue to be a basket case. Populist socialists will never make the required reforms, they always kick the can down the road because all they are interested in is maintenance of power, never the true future prosperity of the country.
Jun 13th, 2015 - 06:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I see similarities for Brazil from South African politics, when Mandela came to power the ANC came in, part of their mandate was to get greater education for their population base, now after 25 years and more black educated people in South Africa these young understand much more the realities and are not so inclined to support the ANC. That is what will happen in Brazil, more people will wake up to the inefficiency and unsustainability of the current political situation.
Idiots like Brasileiro will always exist but with an education there will be fewer of them. Pity this will take years though to play out.
Brazil is the country of the future, and always will be.
Jun 14th, 2015 - 01:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0Corruption in 2013 in Brazil was estimated by Forbes was 53 billion dollars a year. That was before the Petrobras scandal was exposed. The Worker's Party has been in power for 12 years...
Why is Brazil in recession?
Jun 14th, 2015 - 04:08 am - Link - Report abuse 0Australia isn't.
We also rode the Chinese commodity boom and we aren't in recession.
We aren't even in the BRICS and trade more with China than any of the BRICS including Brazil. Guess that's why we are starting to shift our focus to the next BRICS member, India. Which has huge infrastructure needs.
Has Brazil started shifting its focus? Or is it just navel gazing?
And what is the future that their country has Chilíndio? United States only has past since it is in frank decay with the people dying of thirst or drinking water sewer. And with respect to Chile, I do not need to say anything, or do I need?
Jun 14th, 2015 - 02:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 014 The article is about Brazil rather than Chile or USA.
Jun 14th, 2015 - 03:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If you were actually a Brazilian you would be concerned rather than talk nonsense about other Countries.
There is no disguising the fact that Brazil is in steep economic decline.
@2. But we already know you're an ignorant prat. What's new?
