Yet more Hispanophone aggression against an Anglophone country.

Perhaps Guyana should stop being a socialist dump like its big bully neighbour, adopt some sensible economic policies and look to the USA and the Commonwealth for support. Oh, and change their position on the Falklands. If not, it serves them right. Lie with dogs and you rise with fleas. http://www.stabroeknews.com/2013/news/stories/06/09/ramotar-declares-guyanas-support-for-argentinas-claim-to-falkland-islands/

Why does everyone bring up the Commonwealth?

The Commonwealth of Nations (not the British Commonwealth) is not a union nor a defence group nor a sharing of any sort of sovereignty.

It is a cultural, societal and historical group of nations.

It should not be confused with the Commonwealth Realms which share a monarch.

Guyana should look to the US and if possible the UN. But it is a waste of time looking to the Commonwealth of Nations for anything more than platitudes.

    Today , they ask WASHINGTON,

Decades ago London would have acted,
    Today Washington will not.
