Jul 31st, 2015 - 10:34 am - Link - Report abuse 0the discussions covered a number of topics, including economic diversification, strengthening families, good governance, meeting global standards of financial accountability and environmental sustainability.
Aspirations that are way beyond Argentina's capabilities at present.
Instead for Argentina read:
money laundering, smuggling and tax evasion.
All attributes of your president who can't make a country of 40 million work properly.
Credit where credit is due, at least you know your colonialist country is corrupt.
Why have the BOTs missed some obvious topics. For instance, laying a ring of remote-controlled mines around any threatened OT. Remote-controlled in two way. First, switching magnetic and contact sensors on and off. Second, exploding mines on command. A ring of mines around the Falklands is obvious. Switch them on and off to permit legal vessels. But the better one would be the mines around Gibraltar. Imagine keeping them switched off until a Guardia Civil trespasses and tries to take executive action. Then switch them on and watch the GC boats explode and sink as they try to flee back to spain. Spanish waters, eh? Then drink them!

Jul 31st, 2015 - 01:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Dear me, Paulie, you do seem to have your knickers in a twist. Rest assured, you really do not know anything about life in the Falkland Islands.
Jul 31st, 2015 - 02:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 01. We have a very good education system here, many of our children go on to university, in the UK, and return to the Islands with things like MPhil., doctorates and degrees.
2. We have a very good mental health programme.
3. There is no illegal drugs problem here.
4. Gun crime doesn't exist, neither does knife crime. Muggings don't happen and burglary is unheard of.
5. We take part in the Small Islands Games, have a football team, take part in the Commonwealth Games, and recently played ice hockey against several teams in S. America (and won).
6. We have a democratically elected system of government.
7. We are financially healthy and no-one is skimming money from our budget.
8. Inflation is virtually zero.
9. We have a balanced budget and, heaven forfend!, even a budget surplus!
10. We have a cemetary for the fallen of another country, maintained by us (although we don't actually think the dead should be housed here).
11. We can critisize our government, in person and in the press, without worrying about the consequences (doors being kicked in and being killed by government agents).
Is it because you're jealous, I wonder, that you get so het up about someone doing better than you? You could do with a bit of what you advocate for other yourself.
Which classical music do you prefer, by the way?
Toodle-pip, Paulie. See you later.
@8. Considering your standard of education, it's not surprising that you're envious of people so far beyond you. How about robust and effective infrastructure? Or the argie method. Another pointless organisation, but with a different acronym.
Jul 31st, 2015 - 02:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You should go for the mental health care. Someone will come and gently give you care. By smashing your face against a brick wall until you can see an image of your brain on the inside of your eyelids stuck shut by your congealed blood. Continuing with you biting through and then watching your tongue fall on the floor! Although you can swallow it if you like. Continuing until all your teeth are broken and just stab you. We can all happily watch you open your mouth and bleed to death.
@9. It's because he's a gobby, mentally deficient, rabid, cretinous, latino asshole. Although latino includes all the other descriptions.
@10. You have to remember that argieland doesn't believe in team sports. The medal table is quite enlightening. Men did better than women in running, jumping and throwing things. Women did better than men in boxing. Silvers in handball. Women did better than men in shooting. Make of that what you will. Pity there was no soccer. We could have found out what argie women were like at kicking balls! No doubt through long practice.
There was football, Argentina didn't qualify for the men's tournament at all. It was won by Uruguay who beat Mexico in the final. The women didn't make it past the group stage.

You are always quick to point out how racist everyone is on here, but, dearest Paulie, I think you may be confusing people pointing out your failings as something other than what they are. It is not racist to explain that you don't know what you're talking about. It is not racist to point out your childish name-calling. Neither is it racist to inform you that you are no, in fact, intelligent.

but, my dear PeDo, who the fuck told you that shite?
i love good rock music.
from frank zappa to morphine, passing by frank black, etc.
what can you know anyway?
and let tell you that the modern concept of racism in sociology covers all kind of discrimination.
including the discrimination against argentinians, that YOU, the rest of the imbeciles here and this 4th class site are doing since ages.
so, try not to use the word racism so superficially.
as for the english language, clearly YOU are not the most indicated to correct anyone.
remember YOU do not speak english, YOU speak patois.
@41: “didn't like rock music” - you did, Paulie. You said you didn't like Iron Maiden or that kind of shite. What can I know? I have a massive collection of rock myself. Everything by Frank Zappa, although I wasn't a big fan of the Mothers; Free, Bad Co; 5FDP; Tool, Perfect Circle, Puscifer; 30 Seconds to Mars; Tyr; Sabaton; Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation; My Dying Bride, Pythia; A Pale Horse Named Death, Carcass, Pavement, Testament; Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Skynyrd.
Aug 02nd, 2015 - 06:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0discrimination...discrimination against argentinians, - discrimination is a blanket term, covering all kinds of exclusion. I am not discriminating against Argentinians, as a whole. Like everybody else among the 7 billion people on this planet, there are certain types and groups of people I don't like. Some of them may be gay or transgender, but that isn't to say I dislike all gays and transgender people, some of my greatest friends happen to be that type. It is not racist to dislike Argentinians. Unless, of course, you happen to be a different race to the ones you happen to be targeting. Some of my friends happen to be of a different race, so to dislike all of the people of that different race would, obviously, be racist. I have no religion, but the vast majority of my friends are religious in some way.
My point is that to dislike people who share a view that is incorrect is not racist”. Neither is it intolerant; admirably demonstrated on this site, in the way we all still try to talk to you.
And, I really hate to point this out to you, but I speak very good English. Not patois - it is my first language, learnt in English schools. Grammatically correct too. When you eventually meet me, you will suddenly realise just how wrong you are! Trust me on this!

1 iron maiden: iron maiden is HEAVY METAL, of course i detest that shite.
did you expect than somebody with my goût raffiné can like that music?.
NO WAY, monsieur.
2. racism: as i have wisely said, the modern concept of the term racism is a lot broader.
it is not only referred to races, but also to nationalities, religions, sub-races (in the technical concept of the term), etc.
that´s why someone who hates the yids in general is considered racist, independently if he/ she refers to semites, sephardic, black, white, whatever.
in your case, you hate argentinians.
that makes you a complete racist.

And it makes you a complete idiot………got it?

@44: Paulie: the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. = Racism

Which is why people think you are an idiot, Paulie.
Xenophobia, on the other hand, intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries.
On the contrary, I do not hate Argentinians, I know quite a few and they are decent people. Mind you, they are completely different to you.
You demonstrate, quite plainly, that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I've no idea how old you are, but you elicit all the experience, knowledge and understanding of a belligerent, uneducated teenager. You will, given time, possibly, develop.

Paulie, heavy metal is just rock music. I doubt you have a goût raffiné, you don't get one of those from eating out of McD's! You need to broaden your horizons, matey.

Aug 02nd, 2015 - 11:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0it seems you are even more narrow minded than what i thought.
and that is a lot.
you come here with definitions from...wikipedia.
again, the concept of racism is a lot broader.
i know you are not too fond to read books, but try this one:
RETHINKING RACISM:
TOWARD A STRUCTURAL INTERPRETATION *
Eduardo Bonilla-Silva
The University of Michigan
First, racism is defined
as a set of ideas or beliefs. Second,
those beliefs are regarded as having the potential
to lead individuals to develop prejudice,
defined as negative attitudes towards
an entire group of people (Schaefer 1990:
53)
the key word is people.
not races”
as you can see, it is not only referred to races, you dumbasshole.
with your poor theory, the nazis would not be racist, because the focus of their hate was a religion.
you are a waste of time.
@48: According to the Oxford Dictionary of English - the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
Aug 02nd, 2015 - 11:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0One book does not a definition make. The NAZIs didn't appreciate black people, the Rom, Muslims, Jews, in fact they didn't really like anybody other than Aryans.
Until you actually know me, please don't make assumptions based on nothing. Do you really have any idea how many books I read? Per month? Per year?
From the same document, which I doubt you read, ”Schaefer (1990) provides a more concise definition of racism:
a doctrine of racial supremacy, that one race is superior .
It follows that we should ask what we mean by race - OED each of the major divisions of humankind, having distinct physical characteristics: people of all races, colours and creeds.
By the way: Rethinking Racism by Bonilla-Silva is not a book but a treatise of approximately 17 - 20 pages, a copy of which sits on my bookcase.
Over to you, my xenophobic little friend.
49
Aug 03rd, 2015 - 12:33 am - Link - Report abuse 0clearly you are another product of the pork stanley community school.
otherwise, you cannot be so burro to not understand the difference between a definition of the...oxford dictionaries, made in 1900 and the new meanings of the concept of racism.
and it is clear that you have never read a serious book in your life and you will never read the book i graciously suggested.
so, here you have another, key quote:
”Races typically are identified by
their phenotype, but (as we see later) the selection
of certain human traits to designate a
racial group is always socially rather than
biologically based.”
with each post, you sadly confirm my theory that you are just another dumbasshole of this 4th class site.

@50 Think,
Aug 03rd, 2015 - 08:35 am - Link - Report abuse 0l guess that we are all racist in one way or another.
And all races are not equal at birth.
But it is only knowledge or lack of, that defines this.
Some races are superior in certain ways to other races.
l would not even attempt to try to survive in somewhere like the Kalahari or Central Australia, for example.
l acknowledge that the San & the Aborigines are far superior to me in being able to live in such places.
And l would be superior to those people in other ways.
lt has nothing to do with your colour, it is your learned experiences.
People also feel comfortable with others of the same appearance.
So if you congregate with people of the same language & appearance in another country--are you being racist?
Before you start your bullshit, Think or paulcedron or Voice or whatever you call yourself now,
l know what l am, l know how l think as regards foreign people.
l treat everyone fairly, although are suspicious of some lingual groups & religions. And l don't have a problem with that.
So if you want to call me racist, go right ahead.
lt won't affect the way l think or act.
And l won't lose any sleep over it.
ps, your hatred of the British & Falkland lslanders can be considered racist.
as could my dislike of malvinistas.

Race is a real cultural, political and economic concept in society, but it is not a biological concept, and that unfortunately is what many people wrongfully consider to be the essence of race in humans
as i told ya many times, this is a sociological issue, not a question of phenotypes or genotypes.

PeDo
Aug 03rd, 2015 - 04:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0to put an end to this discussion let's see what the american association of physical anthropologists say about race:
http://www.physanth.org/about/position-statements/biological-aspects-race/
of course you are not going to read it or to understand it.
so, in brief, what they say is that genetically speaking, race doesn't exist in humans.
now, the funny thing is that racism, in fact, exists.
you are a typical example of that, for instance when you say ntelligent argentinian posters,” - oxymoron.
hope you can digest this valuable lesson.
and if you can, go back to school, dear ignorant PeDo.
“intelligent argentinian posters,” - oxymoron.” That seems to me to be a xenophobic remark NOT racism!

Aug 03rd, 2015 - 04:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0 Tell UK to abide by UN resolutions, including C24 in the first place.
1/- The C24 do not issue binding UN resolutions.
2/- The UK is completely at liberty to ignore anything the C24 says, as it's remit is to assist colonial peoples to independence.
As the UK has done more to aid the self autonomy of it's BOTS it is doing the C24's job.
The BOTs have no wish to become independent , so the UK is doing nothing wrong.
The C24's so called resolutions concerning the Falklands, don't seek to decolonise them, but to hand them to another colonial power, i.e. Argentina.
Because the C24 is corrupt, in that it is not seeking to decolonise the BOTs (which can only mean, under their remit , independence from the UK), then the UK is justified in ignoring anything they say.
The C24's purpose is to enable colonies the right to Independence from colonial rulers, where those rulers are not permitting independence.
Sovereignty issues are dealt with by the ICJ.
Argentina going to the C24 is like going into a bakers to buy meat when they need to go into a butcher's shop. They need the ICJ.
I hope that makes it clear to you.
@14
Don't cherry pick.
Resolution 2065 mentioning 'Independence, the Islanders interests and taking account of the UN charter, was broken by Argentina by invading the Falklands.
So it's OK for Argentina to break resolutions is it?
Argentina ignored binding resolution 502 but according to you it's OK that Argentina broke the resolution?
William Hague offered talks with concerning the Falklands, but Timmerman refused because shock, horror, some people that actually lived on the islands were there. That would be like the UK refusing to have talks with Argentines because they lived in Argentina.
The UK has not refused to talk, so it is breaking no UN resolutions.
@15 knarfw asked you to outline resolutions the UK is not abiding by-your failure to answer speaks volumes about your ability to cherry pick, and Argentina's invalid claim.
