If nothing else, they could try to harvest this stuff and produce organic fertilizer for export.

“ Some researchers believe it is primarily due to increased land-based nutrients and pollutants washing into the water, including nitrogen-heavy fertilisers and sewage waste that fuel the blooms.”...

Sewage waste ?? sounds about right ...

“... fouled by mats of decaying seaweed that attract biting sand fleas and smell like rotten eggs.”

and yet, even in that condition, they are 1.000.000.000 % better than the islets, which are covered with guano and sheep-droppings and smell like shite.

Have you been to Tobago ? I have. They have beautiful beaches but nothing else.
Tourism is their main source of income. Without the beaches, they are up shit creek without a paddle. The same could be said for the other Caribbean Islands
So they are better off with no industry or source of income ?
As to your obsession with faecal matter neither guano nor sheep droppings smell of “shite” as you so delicately put it.
Guano smells like fishy ammonia whilst sheep droppings have practically no smell and in no way can be compared to human excrement- maybe, of course, Argentinian shite has a more pungent composition. There is plenty displayed in this forum.
As a professional Troll/Wind-up-merchant check your facts before posting such blatant inaccuracies. Eh?
