New York district judge Thomas Griesa has said he will consider all Argentine government assets in the United States, except for diplomatic and military ones, as commercial assets which hedge fund NML Capital could try to seize. Read full article
No matter what TMBOA, Kickitoff and Bogbrush spout, he sees through the crap and gets on with what he knows is the correct decision under American Law, the law the argies knew they had to use to flog the bonds but now wish they hadn't!
All Argentine government assets in the U.S., other than diplomatic and military holdings, will be treated as commercial property, a judge said, opening the door for hedge fund NML Capital and other creditors to seek to seize it.
:)
There's a lot of difference between thumbing your nose at the government of the United State of America and thumbing your nose at a bunch of dirty latam peasants. It appears that rotting roadkill might be in the process of receiving their first substantive lesson on the road to learning this up close and personal.
Argentina has a lot of property in the USA that is neither Military or Embassy assets.
I can't wait until the US Marshal service evicts them.
If there was enough lead time I'd go watch.
;)
rotting roadkillians have lost in the last three (3) days - wait for it - over a quarter billion $$$$$$$$ U.S. $$$$$$$$ on the BCRA reserves because they held it in chinese yuan. lol. Great going chumps. lol.
Hear, hear Griesa's cheerleader chorus celebrating what their small minds believe is a defeat for Argentine.
It's clear they still haven't got a clue about what a country with a government determined to protect its citizens can do.
Paul Singer and his friendly judge may win only if Argentina downgrades to a genuflect government like we had in the past--a territory where electors are not going.
And meanwhile, the old scoundrel's time to get his well deserved compensation is getting shorter by the day.
Three generations down the road will still cry about grandpa's failure to win the prize.
15. Griesa is still smarter and more respected than anyone in Argentina.
If he passes away he'll just be replaced with another judge.
Maybe one that's even stricter with the law.
Maybe one that will hold AxelK CFK and other minions personally in contempt.
Maybe...
18. Wow, you have no idea how things work in the civilized world.
No idea
Plus name one US Politician that's mentioned Argentina's case since SCOTUS ruled?
Just one.
The US Court Cases have already been determined. Unless someone wants to negotiate they're not going away no matter who's personally involved.
@ 18 No Vestige of a brain (still, after all these years)
So you think that if Singer croaked it would resolve the problem of TDC not paying what they owe?
Stupid boy, it's his companies that are bring the suits and it is they who will receive the monies obtained therein. It is they who will disburse them to the persons who are named as beneficiaries in Singer's will on the instructions of the lawyers.
Singer has already cashed in and out by effectively shorting all things rotting roadkill and then driving thoses markets into a death spiral - once and now is doing it a second time.
The bonds are now just for fun and profit. He's already inflicted several billion dollars $$$$US$$$ worth of pain on rotting roadkill and its citizenry. You'd best work out an accommodation before he buries you guys. lol.
Let me know when Singer actually does get a cent...are we talking another decade...?
A YB prediction is in need here....
Give us a sign Oh' great seer...Oh' great master of stating the obvious....

So far I only see Singer's lawyers have been pocketing huge sums.
The cheerleaders here keep hoping...and hoping...and nothing will happen.
Sad.
Enrique still doesn't get the bigger picture.
The more Kristina and Axel etc refuse to accept their responsibilities, the more they hurt the Argentine Economy in the long term.
Can Argentina even still get loans anymore?
Big Yawn.........hahahaha - can't believe this sorry little pathetic discussion still going on and we haven't paid any of this vulture funds a peso. The country was supposed to default and economy collapse about a year but we are still here and guess what - nothing happened from this going nowhere story. What a waste of time and someone needs to put this old senile judge to sleep.
Diego, In case you missed it since you've been gone Inflation has doubled and the peso is worth 1/2, MFG is down for the 24th straight month, Soy is unprofitable, VM is dead,
what did you say, all is going well?
Yeah sure it is
What is it about Yanks and their need to predict and be recognised for it....?
Yes we think it's wonderful that they read articles on other sites...repeat them on here and claim them as some sort of insightful muse...
I think there is now a competition between Chronic and YB for the Top Spot....
Well done YPF and our own investments grew even quicker - hows the rig count going in USA? er its collapsed 60%!
YPF earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, climbed 13.3% on the year to 12.40 billion pesos.
Upstream investments - in conventional and non-conventional energy sources - rose 40.3%, while total hydrocarbon production rose 2.6% on the same period a year earlier.
38. Diego The Arg gov't is paying almost 1.5X the market price for oil to teh internally producing oil companies.
How long do you think that will last?
and what will happen when they go back to paying mkt rate of under 40?
Silly stupid Rgs
Their NPD gets in the way of simple logic.
35 - although they do it, appeals court dont *like* to reverse judgements, its taken as something of a slight, stirs tensions when you correct a colleagues professional opinion. This has real world consequence.
Of course, if that colleague leaves the scene, then there's no-one's ego to slight, no tensions or social repercussions. No aversion to reversing earlier rulings.
And in a rare prediction, (as opposed to a box of bird-shot approach as used by a certain forum guest) Vestige has seen that Griesa shall be wheeled off set quite soon, (possibly with bandage still on head), giving rise to a couple more successful reversals, thus causing a nice long term legal cascade effect.
hahaha - you going to be waiting a lot longer than the 5 years you have already been waiting for any of these ridiculous predictions to come true or for any vulture fund to get any money from Argentina - no se va a page nada a nadie - are the grey hairs starting to show and your looking more and more like Griesa?
44. That's the attitude of why nobody wants to do business with Rgs. All you have left are the companies that take bribes.
That's the reason you've been devolving for 3-4 generations.

You are totally wrong.
The last issue of Argentine bonds was at an interest of 9 (nine) percent, slightly less than Greek sovereign bonds.
Thus Argentina is paying 100 percent in interest every 8 years because the country is in default.
At some point in the future the country hopefully is so lucky as to get a government which understands the cost of being chldish.
Nice try but we are simply putting such bigots as yourselves and extortionist vulture funds in their place and back in the slime pits you all crawled out of.
