In reference to Spanish in the USA..well it was spoken WAY BEFORE english was spoken in the USA...let us not forget that the OLDEST EUROPEAN COLONY in the USA was ST Agustine..and it spoke Spanish..
The Queen and King of Spain will be visiting Florida next wek for the 450 commemoration of ST AGUSTINE.....

The poor sods that manned these ships spoke many, many dialects of Jibber-Jabber and were most likely unable to be understood by the elite, just like now all over the world.
One thing though, you cannot speak Jibber-Jabber as fast as a Spaniard can run away from a fight, any fight, unless he is in a gang.

I don't suppose you have ever noticed the vast quantity of abusive, foul and disparaging words there are in Española when compared to English?
Do you ever think, SORRY I know the answer to that one, it's NO. I will start again; perhaps one day you will learn that those of us versed in English ALWAYS start sentences with a CAPITAL letter and proper names of people and places and we break the text up with paragraphs.
You can always go back to school and try to do better.

Further, the US is the world's second largest Spanish speaking country and the world's largest English speaking country (by the number of speakers). Despite the rantings of Donald Trump and the Tea Baggers US is proud of its immigrant heritage.
