Does the Pope make posters in his spare time? How is it the Pope's poster?

    This picture is hilarious.

It's like amateur hour in South America.

Can anyone imagine the former leader of a serious and powerful country doing this?

    Didn't think so.

You are quite right! Even though I have my doubts about the motives of the Holy Father and his possible support for Argentina insofar as the Falklands archipelago is concerned this poster was contrived by some idiot malvinista and is NOT “the Pope's poster”.

it certainly looks a hell of a lot like someone has given an inmate in a lunatic asylum a camera. Didnt TMBOA and her mate, rent a dickhead, look at the picture BEFORE releasing it to the press? They seriously look like nursey will be along any second to put their “special” jackets back on and take them for their medicine. lol

Looks like Lula is on a promise from TMBOA!

With a bit of luck the effort involved will croak him. :o)

    Love the picture!

6 You dont understand do you? As far as the Falkland Islanders and the UK is concerned there isnt any doubt about British sovereignty and therefore there is no situation to solve. Arg is implacable in its belief that it owns the Falkland Islands, there us nothing we can do about that. We have no intention whatsoever of handing them to Arg or letting Arg share sovereignty.

Its Argentinas problem, just a political stunt to divert attention to your governments incompetence.

As for the Pope, he doesnt mean anything to most of us and the Catholic Church are seen as a regressive organisation keeping people in poverty. He has no influence, we are a secular country.

@6 diefra But why falklanders don t try to get an audience to the pope and explain your situation , what you want, etc “

@7 The Voice ”You dont understand do you? As far as the Falkland Islanders and the UK is concerned there isnt any doubt about British sovereignty“

Yes, The Voice, but this has been the attitude of MLA's for too long-'lets not counter any Argentine propaganda' which has now thankfully transformed into Argentine propaganda being publically challenged , which is embarrassing Argentina.

Sorry mate , I am a pom and not an Islander so your view takes priority, but diefra is right-representatives of the Falkland Island catholic community should visit the pope and cast aside the Malvinas myth, even if the pope doesn't agree. Can you not see how embarrassing for him, and Argentina that would be? Rather than CFK, no president, no bigwigs, just a few catholic Islanders.

I was once told by an MLA, ”We don't mention 1833 because it goes against the Islander's case”

Clearly not the brightest of the bunch as I cannot see enough evidence from 1833 to support Argentina's claim-it doesn't take a genius to read the history and know that the Argentines are misrepresenting it.

In fact it support's Britain's claim, because South American settlers were invited to stay and chose to live under the British flag.

It might seem cheap for an Islander to thrust a poster into the pope's hands or seek an audience, but he is there to represent all catholics and the publicity for the islands will not be negative.

Nothing, but nothing (apart from HM forces) scares the Argentines more than Falkland Islanders publically showing they exist and publically expressing their views, and challenging the Argentine myths as the Argentines seek to supress these views.

@6. An “audience” with a bit of argie pap. For what? There is NO doubt about British sovereignty. In time, when the Island population considers it appropriate, sovereignty will be transferred to the Falkland Islands. No-one else need apply. And argieland can be “reduced” any time.

    @9 Conqueror

An “audience” with a bit of argie pap. For what? There is NO doubt about British sovereignty“

Correct BUT, the Falkland Islanders should take EVERY opportunity to expose Argentina's lies.

For instance, catholic Islanders could point out to the pope that they as catholics are entitled to be represented by him, that dialogue was offered by Britain but Timmerman refused it because Islanders were present.

So the Islanders ask the pope bluntly-why can't our born countrymen/women be involved in dialogue?

Then there's Bible quotes-”Do not covert thy neighbours land” (someone religious can point me right if I have misquoted).

Yes, the Islander's don't have to do these things Conqueror, but the less they contradict the Malvinas myth, the more the myth will spread.

This myth has to be ambushed at EVERY opportunity.

Do you not think that a few islanders, part of the 'pope's flock' would make more impact by NOT being presidents but ordinary followers?

How soon will the Pope's white robes turn a brown colour, when he learns a delegation of catholic Islanders' want to' have dialogue' WITH HIM'?

Because, how can he refuse to talk if they are catholics? It'll go down like the Belgrano if he refuses to 'dialogue' with them.

How can you say it is right (and it is) that Falkland Island MLA's travel to South American countries (that APPARENTLY) support the Malvinas myth to dispel that myth (and this SCARES Argentina that the Islanders are being heard) and suggest that there should be no talks with the pope?

Although the C24 ignores the Islanders when they make a speech, you can bet your money that what they say will filter through.

Argentina is like a huge river bank. It thinks it is stronger than the water and the tiny pebbles it carries along. But ever seen what water does to a river bank over time? It erodes it and changes the course of the river.

And that is exactly what the Falkland Islanders do EVERY TIME they challenge the Malvinas myth.

You re understood me exactly . One of the first visitors that the pope recieved was Queen Elizabeth.
Becuase of the pope is argentinian you misunderstood him, but in fact is agood and an open mind person , . Take into account that he helped to improve Cuba USA relationships, and in my opinion USA has a similar obsession to Cuba, as Arg to Falklands

Can you imagine the scene ? TMBOA choking with a sausage stuck in her throat and the toad rolling over the floor, screaming in pain and grabbing his nuts, or what was left of them...bloody hilarious !
While I have no intention of deliberately offending anyone - except those that deserve to be - I don't have much patience with liberals and all their politically correct shit. That is one of the reasons why things are so screwed up nowadays. If everybody was honest about what they really feel, instead of hiding behind lies to further themselves, or just to look good in the public eye, the world would be a better place.

The time has came to play her at her own game,

a duplicate photograph should be taken and flashed around the world, with the islanders holding up a union jack,

change you constitution to be the same almost as Argentina's, stating under no circumstances must Argentina ever ever get the islands , then you can all quote your constitution when they quote theirs,

cut of all contact with this deluded nutter, and lodge a complaint with the UN that a deluded stalker is stalking the Falkland's,

    Humiliate her at every turn,

print all the abuse , harassment , threats and intimidation in the worlds press every time she opened her trap,

do unto her what she is certainly doing to you,
    but do it better,

    18 diefra,

“in my opinion USA has a similar obsession to Cuba, as Arg to Falklands”

    diefra,
You may be right about the Pope, but in my opinion, with my experience of Americans, they do NOT feel the same way about Cuba as Arg. about the Falklands.

Americans (USA) do NOT consider Cuba theirs. They do not “want it back”.

Cuba's Communist ideology, it's anti-US actions, Soviet alliance, and its willingness to be used by the Comintern to undermine governments and promote Communist insurgency, have all contributed to perpetuating the animosity and the blockade.

Cuban Americans are/were a strong political influence in U.S. politics.
No politician could afford to alienate them.

The Anericans were angry that many businesses and homes were seized and infrastructure projects were not paid for.
However, it's only some of the Cuban American exiles that might want family possessions back, but the average Americans I have met are intrigued by Cuba and want normal relations.

22 Troy Tempest, thanks for the comments in this post and the others

Yes, I m agree, about the difference between Cuba and our case.

Regards Cuba, USA made a big mistake keeping the economic block to Cuba after USSR collapsed, due to give a Castro the reason for don t changing his regimen, with the excuse that USA is a continue threat.

In fact USA was hypocrit is this situation , because the excuse is that americans help to those countries that have dictatorial regimens, but with China and arabian monarchies kept in silence. Of course I Know why.

So I support Obama and Pope s courage for trying a change in Cuba

Next American s problem will be if Donald Trump win next republican s primary elections

    @16, Pete Bog:
“So the Islanders ask the pope bluntly-why can't our born countrymen/women be involved in dialogue?”

Especially given the Resolutions I've seen require their interests to be taken into account - and Argentina doesn't even bother to inquire about their interests.

Indeed, the best way for their interests to be taken into account is for Islanders to be present to represent their interests.

”Then there's Bible quotes-”Do not covert thy neighbours land” (someone religious can point me right if I have misquoted).“

Don't forget ”Do not bear false witness against thy neighbour“. All of the times Argentina's called them ”squatters“ and referred to 1833 as a ”usurpation“ and their invasion in 1982 as a ”recovery” (instead of the other way around which is more factual).

“...but the less they contradict the Malvinas myth, the more the myth will spread.

This myth has to be ambushed at EVERY opportunity.”

The problem is that Argentina has maliciously attempted to deny the Islanders their say at every point, to the point that the C24, fooled by the Malvinas Lie, has refused to visit the Islands despite being required to do so as part of their duties for decolonisation.

If the Islanders were allowed to have a fair opportunity to have their say, Argentina's claim would be destroyed. They can't afford that.

has refused to visit the Islands despite being required to do so as part of their duties for decolonisation.

Then surely there must be a good lawyer who can make the C24 invalid and irrelevant, and thus in turn removes them all of the list.

After all the silly UN and CFK would waste no time in punishing the British if we broke the rules...

I do agree the Islanders have been unfairly snubbed at the C24 and elsewhere. And it's a hard fight when you can be going against the wind.

I believe little by little if there is increasing Falkland Islander rebuttal of the Malvinas Myth-then the tide will turn...
