...why the 25M level-headed Argentines put up with it is beyond me.
Of course. As usual, Chris is prolific in epithets but short in reasoning, and therefore unable to understand what's going on in Argentina.
What he calls putting up with is justified support for a government that has done what no previous governments have done; prioritize the country's interests and put at their place those who were too used to rule from outside.
How would you know what is going on in The Dark Country? I live less than 125Km from them and we have getting on for a quarter of a million Argentines who have fled the country to make a new life in ours, why do you think that is?
Bear in mind that when The Dark Country had British influence it was in the top five economies in the world. So what works better, that or Peronism?
The 15M Peronists are suppressing the 25M level-headed Argentines. There has to be a reason and it's not your clap-trap.

Do the Uruguayans and Argentines have the resources and budget to enforce the ban?
