Once Mercosur and the European Union conclude their exchange of goods and tariff reduction proposals for the long awaited trade agreement, contents of the deal will be kept in reserve while negotiations are ongoing, with no access to media or public opinion, anticipated Paraguayan foreign minister Eladio Loizaga. I think that's a crime. Mercosur should leave the EU dying at peace with their new Muslim citizens.

It will never happen. No-one in Europe wants this deal .. at least not until the rest of Mercosur drop Argentina and cut their own deal (which is what we all know will ultimately happen).
Oct 21st, 2015 - 02:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@3. I agree with you except that I don't think you go far enough. Proper countries don't want this deal. The EU (i.e. the Commission) does want it. Will the Commission do as it's told? It's supposed to be a co-ordinating executive body. It seems to think it's the ruler. Always a good idea when you want the power to decide how much they get out of it. Anyone seen a poverty-stricken EU Commissioner?
Oct 21st, 2015 - 04:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I wonder if there will be member state observers? People who can stand up and say that their country isn't going to agree to whatever and tell the negotiators to drop it.
But you're right that argieland has to go. Everyone knows that argieland can't be trusted with anything. Regrettably, it now seems that Brazil is equally corrupt and untrustworthy. Two down, four to go. Hands up those who are ready to trust Venezuela? Anyone trust Bolivia? Four down, two to go. The four that we've convicted shouldn't get the benefits that have been negotiated. Bring on the police investigations of Paraguay and Uruguay. Then the investigations into the EU Commissioners. Should only take 5-10 years.
On the plus side, the revelations about the EU Commission should collapse the Union. What a wonderful end. Around 500 million people in Europe will be glad that the experiment will be ended. Perhaps Britain will be asked if it would like to take control of a new Empire! Perhaps the new Empire will assist Portugal in re-taking Brazil. 10 million Empire troops. Little spain could be returned to its proper role as cannon fodder. With officers from Gibraltar.
So many wonderful possibilities. I know it's a fantasy, but what's wrong with dreaming? Especially if argieland, france, germany, spain are reduced to their proper place.
Paraguay and Uruguay are viable candidates and Brazil eventually with a major change could be interesting, but Mercosur as a trading block will never be seriously entertained.
