Argentine political analyst Graciela Römer.said there was no clear winner at Sunday's presidential debate between incumbent Daniel Scioli and opposition candidate Mauricio Macri, which nevertheless broke television audience ratings, similar to those of last year's World Cup final between Argentina and Germany. This is interesting because if one were to believe the results of the eight polls published over at Bubblear.com, Macri was a clear winner of the debate. I still think it is too close to call.

I suppose cheating could be an option for the Kirchnerites. Anyone working on that ?

Yes, there could be irregularities. But a lot of Argentines seem undecided even at this stage. When two campaigns based on fear are running it often drives people to the 'devil they know'. It needs to be a bit more clear that whoever wins has no option but devaluation, negotiation and austerity. The money is all spent.

    Forget it :
Macri win 55% Scioli 45% . The problem will be the percentaje of devaluation and the impact over the inflation rate. Probably US & Europe will help Macri with holdouts, and get new credits.

The challenge of Macri s government will be to controll peronism party becuase of some Kirchnerist & left hand parties will disaprove all the economic new policies that the new goverment will take .

But the majority of the argentines we are optimistic with the next government.

    EUians and NorthAmoans helping Argentina?

When in 200 years of history?

It didn't happen when those countries actually had some economic power, certainly won't happen now. Also unlike in the past they now have more pressing issues to attend to. Like, their own existence.

Argentina is alone and we don't need foreigners for nothing. We may be poorer for it, but at least we don't have to thank anyone for anything. Nothing more humiliating than that.

“However “what would have been very useful was a lie-detector” because both candidates repeatedly “were untruthful in many of their statements”.”

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekie writes: “Here It is, all the issues of a nation of forty-some million people explained in just seven words. We are all liars.”

    @5

It's a good thing that NOSTRILS doesn't speak for the Argentine people.

@5 look like sycopath to me. Certainly not Argentinian, no-one thinks like her. We need investors to help build a new country. These must come from other countrys because there is no money here. I dont like China Russia because these are like Peronistas. We need to change and make new friends with America and Europe the welthy countrys. Pensar

So, you would not accept help from anyone. You don't want any Chinese or Russian investment in your country ?
You would not accept any advancements in medical treatment IF it had been discovered in the UK. No life-saving antibiotics or stem cell cures for some cancers.
How very noble of you to stand by your twisted principles.
I presume that you have done a straw poll of Argentinian citizens and they back you 100%.

”You couldn’t deal with the problem of ‘trapitos’ (informal car parkers)”

So the Peronists think this is more important than bankrupting the country, defending it properly and spreading the Malvinas Myth with the result of ...... zero success. They didn't even turn up for the talks that Hague offered after they bleated incessantly for dialogue.

Will the Argentine voters care about car parking when maybe Macri might rescue them from the brink of economic disaster?

CFK, have you solved the car parking problem for Macri?

10 Pete Bog : I m agree with you . Scioli said this sentences about trapitos , at the end of the debate when Macri has not chance to answer him.

Macri try to punish trapitos activities but CFK diputies refused to vote this law, so the are a lot of informal car parkers threat me if I park the car in some neighborhood, ( close at a stadium) making bullyng to pay him if I dont pay him they will damage my car. In one occasion I fought with a trapito , but of course I try to park my car in a garage. Macri will try to change this jungle s law
