The USA has had an uninterrupted long term growth economy since its founding.
But there are many other examples.
I doubt very much that Macri can solve what ails Argentina.
It is important to stamp out corruption, the militant unions must go, get rid of all subsidies, all the crazy regulations and taxes and set up an export economy.
I doubt “the people” will give him/his party the 2 decades he needs.
My guess is the NarKos will take him out in short order.
The immediate need for U$ just to keep the heat on and the cars/factories running is going to be the biggest issue. No Prez has ever taken over a country with Zero reserves.
The Ks have done this deliberately and with malice.

If Macri wins (and I don't rule out anything happening) I hope he reveals the full extent of the damage done by the K's and the boy Kicillof. He should be absolutely transparent about it and refer back to it at every opportunity whilst making a plan for the future. He has to explain that no matter who was elected the hard decisions he has to make were unavoidable. I hope he can work in some hope for the future because under the K's there is none.

Why shouldn't people be allowed to work to make a good life for themselves? I can see how it scares the bone-idle and the people being paid to do nothing but a wealthier country can afford a bigger conscience to help the members of society in real need.
When you think of the high number living in poverty in Argentina you can say without fear of contradiction that the K's brand of economics has not helped the impoverished. And further more has bankrupted the country.

Plenty of opportunity to steal money especially with the favourable shipping rights she endowed. If her boy Scioli is not elected you have to wonder what other favourable last minute legislation she will rush through.
You know, if Macri wins and he does expose the damage CFK has done, she may have to find a better hiding place.
I think it would take years to chase her down for corruption or the AMIA thing.

@68 actually the news here in Río Gallegos is “at least” two witnesses to CFK's have presented denuncias of her violation today of the election campaign law. Under national law, all it takes is one to file a complaint. That would a practice rather opposed to the sort of rule-by-mob behaviour we associate with the KK. Since the KK contrived to pack much of the judiciary with pro-Kirchnerist judges, a dismissal of the charge does not necessarily mean that the complaint is without merit.
