These were probably on contract, together with the armed guards, from Prosegur' a multinational company who move valuables for anybody who can pay. They operate in Uruguay and Argentina for sure.
They also run a domestic arm for the protection of houses and other property.
It's a very distinctive livery and it's best to keep away from them. Some of the guards (including the female 'pack' leader of one convoy around PdelE) smoke cigarettes whilst waving their firearms around during 'scanning' the area for threats. VERY unprofessional.
Many of their pump action shotguns are badly worn and corroded though they do carry some nice 9mm sub-machine guns as well as their sidearms.
