Toxic gas which on Thursday leaked from tanks in a cargo warehouse in the Brazilian coastal city of Guaruja, close to Santos the country's largest and busiest port, has sent some 40 people to hospitals. Read full article

    “The fire was quickly put out, according to the fire departments”.....

    Sounds a bit odd...we saw the flames plus the enormous thick clouds of toxic smoke for a good 48 hours.....but I suppose it all comes down to the definition of “quickly”....

    An example of Beer Math from the US is as follows, though the inverse of the concept applies to how Brazilian fire suppression estimates are conducted. “Brazilian Fire Suppression” having something in common with Chinese Fire Drill.

    Two beers per person, times 12 persons, equals 52 cases of beer.

    Ok, “Chinese Fire Drill” gave it away.......everyone rushing around like a chicken without a head, and damn all getting done ; In the US, getting drunk and spending as little as possible to achieve this....in other words, highly efficient ; the inverse of this concept, in Brazil, just the opposite....not too efficient.
