The Argentine representation in the Mercosur parliament, Parlasur, is considering inviting a group of 'kelpers' Falklands/Malvinas lawmakers, 'to listen to their needs and promote cooperation, but in the framework of Argentina's unrenounceable sovereignty claim over the Islands'. Read full article

    What a perfect feces storm.

    lol.

Surely Below_zero must be coming unglued at rottingroadkill's acquiescence in acknowledging the kelpers as a party to their claim.

Come on Chris - the campers can't still be paying you?

    Give it up, Rubi.

The Parlasul is not the right place for this kind of discussion. If the Argentine government is interested in talking to the islanders it should invite them to the Casa Rosada or the Argentine Congress.

But Brasso, aren't we supposed to believe the Falklands is a regional issue, and not a purely Argentine self-inflicted neurosis?

Although Argentina has full support of South America, Unasul and Mercosul, this internal political discussion of Argentina can not be managed at the level of Parlasul/Mercosul.

The new Argentine government can not use the Parlasul as a way to escape the Argentine public opinion.

    Who cares?
    More posturing RGs.
Can you imagine the mileage the RGs would get if any Falklander showed up to their ineffectual meetings?
Also m Brasileiro, we do not give a rat's arse about Argentine public opinion.

What a complete load of nonsense. Who exactly do they think they might invite.........elected representatives of the people, in which case the Government, or some people they choose who are not elected, in which case they don't represent anybody. And if they were serious (and not just talking useless cr*p for the sake of it) they wouldn't refer to us as Kelpers, but Falkland Islanders.

And on top of all that, our “needs” don't extend far beyond Argentina growing up and behaving like proper neighbours.

So Parlasur, the seat might be empty.

Why does Asseff not send a letter to the FALKLANDERS requesting a list of their DEMANDS with reference to Argentina. Saves wasting a lot of time and money.

Asseff considers himself an 'expert' on the Falklands!

    Pity nobody else does.

“They will not be invited as self-proclaimed British subjects but rather on humanitarian reasons to find out about their needs”

So what if they say sod off?

Argentina any nearer to achieving the Malvinas Myth by trying to ethnically minoritise the Islanders as if they are cavemen?

    No.

    @9ChrisR

Asseff deserves a nickname-come on, you know you want to allocate one.

@7”And on top of all that, our “needs” don't extend far beyond Argentina growing up and behaving like proper neighbours.”

None so blind that those who can't see.

Can they not guess that your needs are being provided for by the FIG?
Free education, healthcare, futures for all the young islanders.

Supply needs presumably met by transport from UK and Chile.

What gets me is the Argentines are so stupid, they don't seem to know anything about the Islands or the Islanders despite them being so apparently' close'.

Many people 8000 miles away know more about the Islands than the Malvanistas (those that are living in Argentina), who pretend the Islands are theirs, but don't actually know anything about the Islands.

If I was an Argentine I would be concerned that I didn't know anything about a place I claimed.

It's these sorts of internal machinations, knives in the back, factional infighting and not-so-veiled threats, that convince Falkland Islanders every day that they don't want anything to do with South American politics.

They will not be invited as self-proclaimed British subjects but rather on humanitarian reasons to find out about their needs,

is this not disgustingly offensive to the islanders,
it stinks or hypocrisy and give the misguided impression that the islanders are poor deprived desperate and begging for help,

the Falkland's and the British government should tell them where to stick their bloody insults,
right up their backside and our through that rotting bit of soggy meat called a brain.
    so I say...

Until recently , the islanders were crying because Argentina did not allow make its voice heard , because nobody wanted to receive them or hear them. Now you see the possibility for the islanders , to speak and raise their views to the South American countries , it seems that PARLASUR is not the appropriate fórum. More hysterical, they can not be , it seems the cat Flora, cries when you put , and cries when removed .

#11 So I do not want to have anything to do with South America ? Well, what are you waiting for? Pack their bags and return to his beloved UK .. !!
Because, like it or not , the islands are in South America and if they have contact with the mainland, is because Argentina gives permission. Without our permission Chile had not begun , flights to the ghetto and if one day we wake crazier than we are , withdraw permission to fly there. Who by neighborhood , they will choose to be right with us and not with 3000 squatters .. !!

Thanks Turtle lsland, your last sentence showed us your true colours, “squatters”.
No need to talk to you again.
Of course ALL you Argentines ARE Squatters.
Squatting on Native American land, dead people's land.
Dead people who you Argentines murdered.
And you have the gall to label someone else as “squatters”?
Must be frustrating for you, no?
Knowing that your silly country will NEVER get its thieving, murdering hands on OUR Land?
    Suck it up, baby.

The joke about Argentina: god created the perfect country.

Rich grasslands, incredible resources, beautiful mountains, ample petroleum and natural gas, powerful rivers, plenty of
rainfall, great beaches, verdant forests, a variety of climates and animals, and on and on.

But there are complaints “That's so much to give to one place!”

“It's OK,” says god, “I'll fill it with Argentines.”

can see how the islanders will line up to go to Argentina over this! I would be more impressed if the Argentines went to Stanley instead its guaranteed they will get back to Argentina, not to sure the Islanders would get back to Stanley

Yep, We would take one look at that wind swept shit hole and leave. You would have to be a toothless sheep shagging in bred to live there. We need to just start shipping all our criminals and dumping them there.

lf its such terrible place here, then why do you want it?
You know that its far better than Argentina & you know that you'll never get it, so you say that its no good.
l would expect that sort of thing from a child.
    Aren't all you Argentines, children?
    @17 Squatting Turtle lsland,
Do you deny that your ancestors came from Europe, killed most of the native people, then stole their land?
Argentina belongs to the few lndians that are left & you should go back to Spain.

“Yep, We would take one look at that wind swept shit hole and leave. ”

This inability to see what the Islanders have done to turn this 'shithole' into a small country that runs a surplus financially, and to provide ALL its people with better health care and education than Argentina can for its people, is precisely the reason why you have turned a country full of rich resources into a financial disaster.

A country that in 1982 despite have a well equipped military and all the tactical advantages, took only two and a half months to get its arse whipped by a tiny country on the other side of the world.

Your attitude explains why Argentina provides little to the world other than a dance from a brothel, great footballers and lots of soy.

The Islanders, from nothing have people investing in uncertain oil reserves and the second best run fishery zone in the world.

They already have 40% of their power from renewables as well.

Just imagine if there were 2 million Islanders-they've achieved lots with only 3000 people to run the place!

    @13
“Who by neighborhood , they will choose to be right with us and not with 3000 squatters .. !!”

Return your land to its rightful owners the Amerindians and you squatters can then return to Spain.

Then Argentina will become a successful country rid of the Spanish lazy, siesta loving, white flag waving surrender monkey gene, and Spain will sink even deeper with your help!

    @13
“Without our permission Chile had not begun , flights to the ”

If you cut the flights, Chile loses £millions in trade. (That's £s, not worthless toilet paper pesos).

The Islanders get flights from somewhere else than South America.

The Islanders still get flights from the UK on up to date aircraft.

And your war veterans will have to fly all the way to UK, and, courtesy of the Airforce that blasted their asses in 1982, all the way to the Falklands, all the way back to UK, and then all the way back to Arg.

    Enjoy the jet lag!

@13. What a load of garbage. I've never noticed Falklanders ”crying. On the other hand, I do notice argies celebrating a war they started, that they lost, because they were defeated by far better people, handing out honours and money to criminals. Except for the few that were so notorious that they had to be sacrificed. Why were no war criminals handed over to the British? Why have no reparations been paid? Why are no suitable argies not shipped out to hop across minefields? Here's a thought for you. If the worst comes to the worst, we will spend out last breath killing you. And the Islands will be places on which you will never dare set foot. Because if it's the last thing we can ever do, and the Islanders have evacuated, the Islands will have triggers for nuclear explosions. Plus the warheads hidden in argieland.
@17. Think about that. Not demons. British. The ones that will usher you into hell. Next time it could be six thousand, or sixty thousand, or six hundred thousand.
@19. Even better. There have to be British. Pest control.
@20. Argies try to leave the Islands. Aircraft get shot down. Boats get sunk. No return to argieland. How kind of us not to make them go back to the REAL shithole. Death far preferable. Drown in the Atlantic!

    Actually Mr Alberto Asseff ,
what might be more appropriate would be if the falklanders invited you and your fellow members to come to the Falkland's and sweep the gutters,

or at the very least the toilets.

Alberto Asseff is a notorious neo-nazi warmonger author of “Proyecciớn Continental de la Argentina: de la geohistoria a la geopolítica nacional” (Editorial Pleamar, 1980.) In that book Asseff wrote that Argentina, as a leader-nation, it should secure its own continental and oceanic lebensraum because it needs imperiously (imperiosamente):
    1. A sovereign corridor to the Pacific Ocean; 2. All the Chilean Beagle Channel and Cape Horn Islands; 3. The Falkland Islands must be retaken in less than two years, starting 1 January 1981; 4. Gough Island, a dependency of Saint Helena, situated south of Tristan da Cunha, must be occupied because it is an Argentine fundamental geopolitical objective.
These are just a few samples of Asseff's “Mein Kampf's” ideas!!
