The former CEO of World Sailing says he was fired for pushing to get rid of polluted Guanabara Bay as the sailing venue for this year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Peter Sowrey tried to change the venue, or at least have a “B plan” but says “I was told to gag myself on the subject.” Read full article

So when a guy tries to do the correct thing the politico's force him out.

Hunt is a cunt (rhymes as well) for accepting the job and he has let the sailing community down.

I just hope nobody dies as a result of the toxins, viruses and bacteria in the bay.

Always a stupid decision to go to SA and especially Brazil.

Any sailing medal will inevitably be referred to as the “Golden / Silver / Bronze Turd” and quite right too.

Proof that the olympics are a joke and bulgarian jewish terrorist dilma rousseff is laughing. Of all the pristine places for a boat race they pick the notoriously $hittiest sesspool in latin america.

    REF: Guanabara Bay [pollution]:

#1º: If it is unfit for any event; the pollution MUST be taken care of - but not just for the Olympics.
#2º: Brazil has a vast sea-front. Most of which is not as polluted as the Guanabara Bay.

Can someone please explain why the events can not be held elsewhere?
