St Helena Government is preparing for a Population and Housing Census on Sunday, 7th February 2016. The Census will capture the essential information on the pre-air access characteristics of the Island population to assist with the development of services such as Health, Education and Housing. ST Helenean Govt- or rather their UK civil servants are in cuckooland - as they always have been. It will be NO easier for saints overseas to get home- still once a month from Ascension - the logical and cheapest place for all those who live and work in the UK- Ascension and Falklands. Yes quicker, 2 hrs instead of 2 days but no different really - and limited luggage and baggage unless you want to pay a lot.
These civil servants have still not got the point that most Saints travel to the UK or Falklands or Ascension- not South Africa - at its a long and very expensive way home from UK or Falklands via South Africa!
