The Argentine government expressed its 'concern' to the UK over Defense minister Michael Fallon's visit to the Falkland Islands where he spent time with the military at MPA and met with Falklands elected government authorities and members of the community, according to media reports in Buenos Aires. Feb 20th, 2016 - 09:59 am - Link - Report abuse 0Some of us a rather more concerned about the pretty pathetic childish attitude and actions of a bunch of Argies at the Darwin cemetery the other day here - they paid NO RESPECT to their own dead by the way they behaved there.
As usual, the argies (old school, bat-shit mad K supporters) just cannot accept the truth that they LOST the 1982 war, that they brought on the Islanders, and that is all there is to it.

Fallon's Falklands visit caused 'concern' and displeasure. Did it? Oh good.
Feb 20th, 2016 - 11:12 am - Link - Report abuse 0Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Defence is a member of the British government and Cabinet. As such, he has a duty to visit British bases around the world.
Argieland should learn to get its nose out of other people's internal affairs. The Falkland Islands are NOT argie territory. Didn't 1982 teach argieland anything? The matter WAS settled 34 years ago. The UK is not in breach of any relevant UN resolutions. On the other hand, argieland IS.
Mr Fallon's presence in the Islands does serve a useful purpose. The purpose being to ensure that Britain's garrison can annihilate any argies as appropriate.
100% agree with you Chris R.
Feb 20th, 2016 - 11:22 am - Link - Report abuse 0100% agree with you, Conqueror.
since this was interpreted as an intromission of London in 'Argentine territory'.
Feb 20th, 2016 - 12:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Prove it -go to the ICJ, with proper researched evidence from treaties between Spain and Britain, between Argentina and Britain in THEIR ENTIRETY, analyse ALL documents and records relating to 1811-1833, and look at the fact that Britain did not just turn up in 1833.
Argentina is arrogant enough still to believe that cordial relations will only benefit the UK. No Argentina, it is you who need economic help, and if you want to establish cordial relationships with the Islanders, there's nothing stopping you.
The Falklands are not Argentine territory and you have not made any logical case based on anything to prove it.
My suggestion that the FO should praise Argentina for not commenting on Fallon was premature, but it is progress I suppose that Argentina behaved diplomatically rather than had a huge public sad on.
Allegedly a close advisor of President Macri said that Fallon's presence in the Islands 'served no purpose' with the current attempt of normalizing relations with London and 'establishing a bridge with the Islanders'
If you want to talk to the Islanders, the UK isn't going to stop you, ask to meet the FIG.
Talk about blocking your own path with rubble.
Pity that Fallon, after decades of being a 'Eurosceptic', has just thrown his lot in with Camoron and the 'remain' mob.
Feb 20th, 2016 - 05:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Probably concerned he couldn't get another job when Camoron chucked him out for voting 'Leave', probably right now.
Vote 'Leave' on 23rd June.
Caused concern and displeasure... Aww diddums! Wait one sec... I think I can hear Hepatia's fairy footsteps approaching. What can I hear? Something about Paul Daniels being cured by the UK in 25 years?
Feb 20th, 2016 - 07:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's a pity that the Argentinians are not as passionate about the rights of their indigenous people as they are about their rights to the Malvinas! 200 - 500 years makes little difference time wise! Many thousands of peaceful Indians were slaughtered for their land by Argentina's Spanish fore bearers... the Malvinas was taken (depending on your point of view) by sneaky, occupation and wonky diplomacy! No one got hurt over the Malvinas issue until 1982, when the vicious ruling junta in Argentina played the 'Malvinas Card' to distract attention from their widespread slaughter of their own citizens...and their mismanagement of the country's economy! The Indians are still present and demanding their rights...but no one is listening!

Feb 20th, 2016 - 10:39 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You should get CCTV installed at the cemetery and record every single visitor.
And when they misbehave show it on every single news channel in the world about how Argentines dishonour their own war dead.
As for what British ministers do or don't do in British territory isn't the concern of any foreigners, especially belligerent foreigners who want to steal said territory from its true and native owners.

Feb 21st, 2016 - 11:18 am - Link - Report abuse 0Toilet paper! The old argie K's have toilet paper!
More like a run down their legs.
The Argies didn't use toilet paper in the FALKLANDS when they invaded, so I have been informed, they didn't know what a toilet looked like. A bit like in Arab countries , a hole in the ground would suffice.
Feb 21st, 2016 - 11:24 am - Link - Report abuse 0What we do, has nothing to do with Argentina,
Feb 21st, 2016 - 08:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0they have no say whatsoever over the Falkland's.
they have nothing at all,
broke , no air force , no navy , skint , greedy corrupt and no respect,
they have a great future, but not with the Falkland's.

Feb 22nd, 2016 - 12:56 am - Link - Report abuse 0Must be a joke no??
They have less entity than a consorcio de propietarios.
And again, that joke of referendum only shows that the bennies want to be British, but it is absolutely useless regarding the land, sovereignty and whatever the fuc# you want.
Capito?
Not absolutely useless.
Feb 22nd, 2016 - 05:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0But indeed British.
Until they say otherwise. Reality might suck for you but you will have to accept it nonetheless.

Feb 22nd, 2016 - 10:40 am - Link - Report abuse 0Obviously an Argie has to try and get his message across by writing in Spanish ( or a bastardisation of Spanish ) . Problem is the only person who would understand is another Argie. Knobhead.

Feb 23rd, 2016 - 09:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0it is absolutely useless regarding the land, sovereignty and whatever the fuc# you want
But the following isn't useless.
Britain has history on it's side, Argentina doesn't.
Britain was in the Falkland Islands before Argentina existed.
Spain recognised British sovereignty in 1863 when their Navy visited Stanley.
Nowhere does the UN say that self determination does not apply to the Falklands.
Britain has been in the Falklands before Argentina existed and for many more years than the claimed dubious Argentine occupation.
And you are patrolling your skies with Tucanos and Pucaras-Falkland skies are patrolled by Typhoons, soon they'll be armed with the Meteor, just in case you are lucky enough to get some jet fighters(of any vintage) that work.
“falklands elected government authorities”
Must be a joke no??
Well, in a country that has had more coups than hot dinners, you don't understand fully the concept of people that live in a country voting for the government they want.
However in Argentina there is hope-all the vote rigging by the peronists didn't work this time.
The Falkland Islanders are on their Islands to stay.
Lump it or like it.
The UK will return the Malvinas within 25 years.
