Lula prepared to accept a ministry to avoid arrest, according to Brazil's leading media
Former Brazilian leader Lula da Silva has accepted a key ministerial role in President Dilma Rousseff's government, leading media in Sao Paulo have reported. Members of the governing Workers' Party say his appointment will strengthen her beleaguered administration. In becoming a minister, Lula will also have some legal protection. Allegedly the two are to meet on Tuesday in Brasilia. Read full article

But; there is NO need to get over-excited with the news & the cartoons! Very unfortunately; Lula & Co. finally will:
1º: Escape the prison-sentences. or
2º: Complete a nominal short-time sentence - just as a token / for the name-sake only. and
3º: Be free before the sentence is completed.
4º: Return - if totally unavoidable and just to satisfy the population - a small fraction of the loot; as a token and for the name-sake only.
5º: Rule Brazil for a few more decades
6º: Make the opposition fragile & fragmented.
This way, the level of Corruption and Money-Laundering will become higher & more sophisticated, more difficult to prove / figure out and more difficult to apprehend. Already off-shore banks, gambling-dens & casinos are on the anvil to facilitate just THAT [Corruption and Money-Laundering]!

Mar 15th, 2016 - 07:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The cartoons are very appropriate, but if Lula actually accepts a Ministry to try to avoid prosecution, I believe he will simply be postponing the inevitable ....his case will have to be judged by the Supreme Court, where he is not too popular nowadays, and with all the proof piling up....
And if he is eventually condemned and sentenced to a prison term, no matter how short, he will have a dirty record (Lei da Ficha Limpa) which will make him inelegible. And also, if he does accept the position to try to escape prosecution, I think it'll be tantamopunt to shooting himself in the foot.
Lula's supporters must be so proud..... he has finally succumbed and become what he always said he stood against.

Yes. You are right!
But by postponing - by gaining time - he may have a number of advantages which he can use very effectively; to change the regulations, laws, ministers and even the constitution - for the benefit of his party, his family & friends/associates [the brotherhood in crime] and himself - while the population watches helplessly.
REF: “Ficha Limpa”: There is hardly any politician with a “Clean Record”! Openly, they may criticize & blame each other but amongst themselves, it's just one Well-Organized Crime Syndicate in Public Sector - helping each other to steal as much as they all can.

And the fact that the LulaRat has indisposed himself with head of the Senate and of the Lower House (Calheiros and Cunha (for as long as the latter's still active) and members of the STF , by referring to them as 'merdas' and 'filhos da puta' (asper the content of phonecalls between the cow and the rat, divulged by Moro) , I don't think that he'll be able to count on their support.......We all know why Lula (who instructed Dilma to invite him to be Chief of Staff) “accepted” the Ministerial position in such a hurry, and the idea that the PT is trying to float, that it is to stitch together some political agreement to improve the economy, is pure bullsh*t. Can't wait to see Dilma and the LulaRat being handcuffed and escorted to prison.
