Troubled Brazilian construction company Odebrecht SA plans to sell about 12 billion reais (US$3.4 billion) in assets to help meet its debt obligations, according to the builder’s chief executive officer. The company had a gross debt of 85 billion reais in 2014, the most recent figure available, but much of it is long-term debt and the biggest payments start only in 2025, Odebrecht CEO Newton de Souza said in an interview published Friday in the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. Read full article

    Fire Sale in Brazil.

The smart money isn't investing yet though
and they won't until the corruptors are not running the gov't any longer

Someone told me long ago you're never forced to buy but you can be forced to sell.
    They're forced to sell.

The leniency agreement has been signed. We, the people and government of Brazil, will be signing 26 billion reais in infrastructure projects that will be built by Odebrecht, now in the first half of 2016.

We will not abandon our companies at the time of difficulties.

    26 billion reais?

    Is that all?

God there's a new train line costing that just through the middle of my state capital. 26 billion reais is peanuts.

Once you take into account how much will be stolen by politicians and how much it will cost to repair dodgy workmanship, the people will only get about billion or two reais benefit.

    More wasted money.

Never thought you'd be the one standing up to protect corruption and oligarchs Brasileiro but then again none of you who post have ever really been that intelligent.

REF: “plans to sell assets to meet debt obligations”: They are just pretending that they respect their obligations and responsibilities.
