    @1

    It's probably not a mistake she was the Director of International Organisms.

    Obviously the 'shine' has gone off Malcorra's regime and they've begun to resort to the tried and tested 'distract with the mythical malvinas' method.

    Indeed the Malvinas is a huge distraction campaign. That's why its on the front page of every paper.

    Oh no wait its not on any.

    Ms Krackass was previously Argentina's ambassador to West Uqbar and the planet Saturn, which she claims will be returned to Argentina within the next 25 years.

    What a dispiriting job to realise you have no chance of success-the less effort she puts in, the better, she might as pick up a big salary for doing nothing, as it won't make a jot of difference to the situation even if she ramps up the bullshit like scumfilm.

    She can always watch the programme looking at the wildlife in BOTs on at the moment on BBC 4.

    Macri must be starting up his own “Gnocchi” club !!
    Free drinks all round !
    P's, for those who don't know, The Campora gave jobs for the boys in CFk days and they only turned up one day a month to collect the £2000 a month wages and we're nicknamed“Gnocchi's”.

    Ghost employees - just like Chicago.

    I rather like actual gnocchi in a barese sauce.

    How can anybody be appointed “Undersecretary” of a territory that does not exist? I can certify that the Falkand Islands exist (I have been there several times). And there is nothing there called “Malvinas” Islands there, nor Argentinean, except a small cemetery.
    With all due respect, I would suggest that the good lady be appointed “Ambassador” to Sancho Panza's Island of Barataria- at least it exists in a real and solid novel!

    @8 “...and we're nicknamed“Gnocchi's”. ”

    In Argenzuela they're called and spelt “ñoquis.” The amounts they collect vary.

    @10 “.... there is nothing there called “Malvinas” Islands there, nor Argentinean, except a small cemetery. ...”

    There is also a great deal of Argentine rubbish, which the argentos as a matter of national pride and lower-animal instinct leave behind wherever they go, although in the case of the events many years ago some of their aircraft received some friendly ballistic assistance in being converted into rubbish and strewn about the countryside and waterways. And there is other Argentine detritus, such as the minefields, and of course no-one could trust them to tidy those up. Then there is of course the Malvina House Hotel, but that is Malvina in the singular.

    Other: Ms Krackass.... “ who until now was director of International Organisms.” There appears to be a translation error. The prior position was one in which she had failed miserably and was actually entitled “ directorette of International Orgasms.”

    So how long will it be, before president Mauricio Macri
    creates a Malvinas governor, or minister for Malvinas defence , fishing , exports , health and benefits.

    If only Argentina could see the deplorable funny side of all this,

    they would surely be shamed into just giving it up and stay with Bingo,

    its easier and cheaper..

    Ah yes, in Stanley (there is absolutely nothing “argentino” about it), there is a good little hotel, also with a good restaurant, called “Malvina House”. It was called “Malvina” because either the wife (or daughter) of the first owner was called Malvina.
    Again, there nothing Argentinean in those latitudes,

    Philippe- Totally Correct. Malvina House Hotel - the first Malvina House built on site in the 1860s was named Malvina - at that time a popular Scottish girls name - after the daughter of the first owner.
    ZERO Arg connection.
    Recently the current Hotel owners asked folks if they wanted the name to be changed because of the perceived Arg connections(the old sign was much photographed by visiting Argentines).
    Majority local opinion was the name was historic and bugger all to do with Argentines and so should stay, Owners got a new sign made that has the Falklands Flag in the middle of the name plate- oddly enough it no longer has such photo attraction by Argentines!

    Macri is constrained by the Argentine Constitution. He is also undertaken plenty of deeply unpopular economic decisions that will benefit Argentina in the long run.

    He needs to pick his battles with the domestic electorate and he has already downgraded the whole Malvinas Myth plenty. Overtime this will happen more and more frequently. But until that time he needs to play the game.

    The fact that so many on here fall for it, shows that it is working on the intended domestic audience just as much.
