Apr 25th, 2016 - 11:53 am - Link - Report abuse 0One UK general shipper has got shareholder permission to sell six of their eight modern fleet, and very nice ships they are too, for just ONE dollar each but the purchasers will have to take one sixth of the companies substantial debt as final payment.
This, of course, should leave the company debt free. Mmmm, given there is a major oversupply of such vessels and the consequential rise of 'zombie' ships (going after business at any price) this stunt may not work.
As for new build we can only hope there are new electrical control room designs to prevent the serious, ship threatening, fires that we have seen so many of in recent years.
