With the above in mind, some say that the UK cannot do trade deals with other countries outside the EU, what a load of tosh, if the French can so can every country trade with the outside world.

“DCNS, which traces its roots to 1624”

And in all that time have they ever built a vessel that hasn't been send to the bottom of the ocean by the Royal Navy.

Ozzie genetically delinquential tendencies in natural alignment with larcenous continentals of amphibious disposition.

    Greenpeace Warrior weep.

Diesel Subs are in general REALLY quiet.

Nuclear powered due have tremendous endurance and speed.

However for Stealth you want Diesel-Electric Subs.

Though HMS Conqueror (S48) is the most remembered Submarine used during the Falklands conflict.
HMS Onyx (S21) a Diesel-Electric Sub proved herself being able to deploy special forces troops.

The HMS Onyx was finally detected by argentine navy and air force planes. There are some pics taken from an argentine plane of it when it was not capable of going beneath the surface.

A German built sub was able to operate within the Royal Navy without being detected though. Another proof of diesel subs stealth capabilities.

Diesel engines need air to work?, I am sure my Merc will not work submerged. Unlike nuclear powered subs which don't.

The current design of Diesel electric subs. will enable them to stay submerged for 3 weeks. They basically work by using a diesel engine operated conventionally on the surface but, underwater, they are supplied with an oxidant (such as liquid oxygen) that keeps them running.
However, they still have to come back to be refueled when the diesel runs out.
Here is web site giving more details.

I don't care who won the bid, so long as they built it it here. The local economy is in terrible shape and we need the business. Jay Weatherill must be feeling a tremendous amount of relief.

The French design and build good ships. These subs. should suit Australia's needs admirably.

So the French are going to build a diesel-electric version of its 5,000-tonne Barracuda nuclear-powered submarine.
I hope they spoke to Argentina about this. They are after all the world leaders in converting d/e subs to nuclear... has anyone heard how that project is going??

If their workmanship on the Lucas Heights reaction is anything to go by..... we surely hope it isn't going anywhere.
