Now here is where the intellect of the basic rg is challenged:

Can they parse between justice and retribution?

Since rg knows that all acts of government are political I think the challenge is too great.

Macaroni needs to stay above the fray - at least perception wise or there will very well be a similar fate awaiting him at the conclusion of his tenure.

This isn't unique to rg - one only need examine the retirement homes of the last half dozen Illinois governors.

    Oh yes - tick tock.

The new government in Argentina will have to float a new series of bonds to pay for the construction of the new prisons they will need.

The KK on the forum may be quiet, but here in Argenzuela they are still noisy and present. And they are doing CFK's bidding in the congress right now since that congress is still very much a populist club that won't allow Macri to carry through with the needed reforms.

The paper is in English. The rules set by the paper are in English. You know, there are times when I am watching the news from the centre of the universe (BsAs) and sometimes words come up in the ticker that I don't know. So I ask my Argentine room mate what the word means...he tells me many times that it is a slang word from BsAs...and that he does not know what it means. this happens quite often. When we go to Chile (a Spanish speaking nation) he can't understand them most of the time. So if you are all going to use slang in every different part of the country...well, so much for your “pure” Spanish. It sort of like in Quebec...where they basically speak 17th century French mixed with 20th century English. And they wonder why no one can understand them in Paris...

    Think,

Let's calm down a bit. Nobody is clean, that's for sure.

However, it is a shame, real shame, that the Kirchners didn't take advantage of such excellent circumstances from 2003 up to 2007 when we really had a chance to make this country to take off.
They acted like crooks instead but they disguised it as “for the people ... blah .. blah ... blah”. Disgusting bastards.

Macri might have been a crook, but as far as I know, he is not hiding himself under the nac&pop blanket.

So, the obvious conclusion is that we are fuck.d from whatever angle you look at it.

Personally, I totally condemn the Kirchner gang. Macri, well, I'll give him a chance. We'll see in 2017. I'm quite open minded.

    Haha!
What would it take for it to sound fully reasonable? I suppose I sound like someone that's taken too much crap and has almost had it with all the lying bastards.

Is it me or you really like Larralde? On my behalf I can say that I've lived all over the interior so I guess I'm strong enough to not be scared away by a cow. Even up to these days, I sometimes meet people that truly talk gaucho (not in BA of course). My mother's family used to have a tambo near Rosario. My other grandma comes from a farm in southern Cordoba which we visited often. I would chase ducks while my dad hunted “vizcachas” and “perdices” (sorry, don't know what kind of animals those would be in English)

You describe that kind well. They fill their mouths with gaucho stuff and how important our roots are but the only country they've seen is “La Rural” in Palermo.

TF, perdices are partridges. You remember “y fueron felices comiendo perdices”? Vizcachas are vizcachas... no other word in English.

Yes, I have a wide collection of Larralde, and of course his “Patagonia” is in the mix since for the time being I am still in pcia Sta Cruz. Several favourites from Larralde, a topic for discussion en vivo the next time you are in Río Gallegos.

    @61 Think
You have lived long enough -more than me as I understand- and I guess you should know better than taking a business proposal at face value.

I'm pretty crafty when it comes to writing proposals. You know, the nice thing about proposals is that they allow you to cherry-pick those numbers that make you look good while leaving those not so nice numbers out.

Judging by my experience so far, I have never gotten any business by writing a proposal alone. It is just the first step. A due diligence. An important one though. The real thing comes after the proposal. Inquiries start. Numbers must be explained and in so doing some dark spots might surface. And you'd better have a good reason for those buddy!

That is why I believe my next couple of questions would be relevant in this matter:

    - If there is only 6% unemployment, Why are unions making such a fuss about the latest layoffs?
    - Education: Have you seen how high school kids write?
    - Middle class: Is that middle class just an homogeneous monolithic group or does there exist a segmentation? Just remember, you are considered middle class if you make more than 7500 pesos (500 dollars?).
    - 110,000 higher education graduates. Graduates of what? Science? Engineering?
    - 30+ years of stable democratic governments ... Really? What about the peronists coup of '89 and '01?
    - Lazaro's roads? Have you ever driven on routes 7, 8, 33, 34? Railroads? Forget about passengers. Cargo trains. Why is it under used? Would it be due to the state of the tracks or the lobby from Moyano?
    - Why do I see people sleeping in the streets? Swarms of kids asking for money or something to eat?

I could go on and on with the list but I have a proposal of my own due next Tuesday.

If this was such a land of wonders, we wouldn't even be discussing about it. We would probably be sharing a pizza at Burgio's. That's why that paper is titles “Land of opportunities”.

There is a difference between “potential” and “realization”.

Ahora te toca a vos despabilarte.

Vamos bien!! O no?
