Argentina's foreign minister Susana Malcorra said on Friday she believes there's no conflict of interest between her bid to be the next U.N. secretary-general and her ministerial work including pressing Argentina's sovereignty claim over the disputed Falkland Islands. Read full article

    Unless of course you think that as Foreign Minister it is OK to lie....

    http://www.mrecic.gov.ar/en/argentina-presented-today-outer-limits-its-continental-shelf

    but this is what they really ended with....

    http://www.mrecic.gov.ar/en/argentina-presented-today-outer-limits-its-continental-shelf

    You couldn't even put this down to 'jumping the gun', ...'in 2009 two senior diplomats and the head of COPLA (an agency of the Foreign Ministry) were present at the Commission in August 2009, when the decisions were taken to instruct the sub-commission to give no consideration to the parts of the submission related to disputed territories and to Antarctica.'

    So they knew all along that these areas would not form part of the submission so decided instead to lie to the general public and the world. It seems it is in their blood to lie without embarrassment in order to promote their claims.

    So yes I would think there is an issue my dear, you have openly lied, without shame and you think that qualifies you to be trusted as the next SG. Maybe in Argentina lying is celebrated as a worthy characteristic. But the rest of the world looks on in with much amusement and a sprinkling of embarrassment for you.

    The Malevolent Midget Malcorra, alleged professional engineer, is blowing her own trumpet.

    I for one think she is totally unsuited for the role, even considering the utter incompetence of the incumbent, she still outdoes him hands down.

    If she starts kicking off at the UN over the Falklands(assuming she gets the post) it will be seen as an abuse of her position and all the UK has to do is to point to the UN paperwork and rules that support the Islanders right to determination and the C24s duty which is to promote independence amongst colonial peoples and territories.
    @3 Skip
    If Malcorra abuses her position, your post provides the answer.

    Hey Skippy, Nauru and Manus were in the news again this week.

    Your country has an admirable human rights policy on immigration.

    Do you think Trump might be interested in the Wussie model?

    An impenetrable media black out - how do they attain that?

    What goes on inside these camps?

    Malacara should be barred from the application simply on the grounds of her obvious inability to understand the meaning of “incompatible.”
