Yesterday someone assured us that Gibraltar would always be loyal to the Queen and the UK.

Over time, I have warned more than once that, without Britain, this is the sort of future that Gibraltar can look forward to.

Of course, Garcia-Margallo couldn't openly come out and talk about Spanish troops marching across the frontier. Preceded by the tanks. But how long would “joint sovereignty” last? Garcia-Margallo thought that a branch of the Cervantes Institute would be a good idea for Gibraltar. A good idea for infiltrating Gibraltar is what he meant!

Still, roll on the spanish elections. Perhaps the spanish population will understand that the PP is no good!

Didn't Gib have a referendum on this very subject (i.e.joint sovereignty) and although the UK Government recommended it (knowing full well that there was no chance) booted it into the Med in no uncertain terms.
