Argentine President Mauricio Macri headed on Monday the main event of Argentine Flag Day, during which he renewed his commitment to “change” in the country, change that would include “zero poverty” and a war on drugs.

At the foot of the Monument to the Flag in the city of Rosario, Macri invited Argentines on this festive day to commit to “a work ethic, respect for others, dialogue and living together in harmony.”

The president said that this Flag Day, which commemorates the death of independence hero Manuel Belgrano (1770-1820), the national flag's creator, is “special” because Argentina declared its independence exactly 200 years ago next July 9.

“Two hundred years ago, thousands of Argentines promised to work together, believing that with freedom they would build a better society, and decided to be the leaders” of their own country, “and that brought us to where we are today,” Macri said.

The head of state invited the approximately 5,000 children present at the event, and who pledged loyalty to the Argentine flag, to experience next July 9 “with joy and emotion as the next century” of Argentina begins.

Macri, who took office as president last December after 12 years of Kirchnerism in power, recalled that Argentines “not long ago” decided they wanted “change, and that change must be based on clear, concrete goals, like the goals of those who declared our independence.”

    Rg pledge?

Does it contain a reference to viveza criolla?

For some interesting insights into how Kirchnerism lied about the economic “growth” in Argentina, see ”Measuring Argentina’s GDP Growth- Myths and facts, by Ariel Coremberg. (World Economics, Vol. 15, No. 1 January–March 2014).

Anybody who claims they can eliminate poverty is ignorant of certain facts.

There are some people who will NEVER work to earn a living: it is not in their nature and are seemingly happy to make that life choice.

Throwing money at them as DumbAss Dilma continued to do, or as 'No Money Pepe' started to do and has committed Uruguay to spending money from existing taxes to fund 1.4M (out of 3.3M) to continue this life choice.

I have now discovered (from UYU government figures) just how many producers of wealth there are in Uruguay: just 660,000 and dropping at an alarming rate due to Mujica's stupidity bolstered by Vasquez's impotency to do anything about it.

660,000 wealth producers out of a population of 3.4M, less than 20%!
