Second Chinook helicopter back in the Falklands from Afghanistan

The United Kingdom has returned to the Falkland Islands one of the two Boeing Chinook heavy-lift helicopters that were withdrawn in 2006 for operational service in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) told IHS Jane's on 4 July. Read full article

The Chinook can probably use any part of the Falklands as a base. Pity we lost so many when the Atlantic Conveyor went down. Excellent troop transport, equipment transport and, with a bit of modification, gunship. Check out the number of windows. Take out the plexiglass and install miniguns.

Wonder if fanklinook is one of them one chinnok was badly damaged in an accident so they used a captured argintine chinnok to repair it.

The system has been made available to UK forces. Argentina cannot get anything like it.
