Diane Simsovic has been announced as the new Head of Policy for the Falkland Islands Government. Simsovic is Canadian and has more than 35 years’ experience in the private and public sectors, with a background working at municipal, provincial and federal levels of Government, primarily focussing on economic development and growth. Ms Simsovic has also previously worked in environmental engineering and management consultancy.

 Ms Simovic will arrive in the Islands in August 2016 and of her appointment said she, “is excited to be starting a new chapter in the Falkland Islands and honoured to have the opportunity to serve the community.”

Chief Executive of the Falkland Islands Government, Keith Padgett, welcomed the appointment: “The Policy Unit is an important section within the Falkland Islands Government, with a diverse range of projects and responsibilities. Diane has a wealth of experience in public policy-making that will be invaluable to the success of FIG moving forward.”

Diane Simsovic is a PhD candidate at Carleton University in Ottawa and since 2014 has taught business management, international marketing and international trade at Niagara College in Ontario. (Penguin News).-

    That's a strange comment to say the least given that the link shown by the college itself regarding Diane had no results referencing the stated experience?

    Exactly what is the relevance of your comment? Surely her CV will have been verified before the Falklands Government offered her the job?
