Argentina........and its new partner, United States... sounds a lot like the sort of partnership that the US enjoys with its eternal friend and ally, North Korea.
Aug 18th, 2016 - 02:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The hostility that the average clod here expresses towards the US is something that must be experienced. Conversely, most Americans can't find Argentina on a labeled map, and are perfectly content with that.
The nitwit that the US sent to Argentina as ambassador is a perfect reflection of the utter lack of importance that the US feels for Argentina.

Aug 18th, 2016 - 09:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's rather disturbing that the US State Department employs such clueless bottom-feeders as so-called diplomats, which are of course political appointees. In my earlier days involving liaison with US embassies in Letrine America, the US military assistance group were generally quite sharp, the Commerce group less so, the Regional Security types decently competent, but the non-career ambassador-level staff .... too often (though not always) quite clueless and worthless.

Lets not forget that the US is trying to stop the Chinese from expanding in Patagonia. The Kirchners allowed the Chinese to settle a base and the US needs to catch up before too late. Argentines spend more time hating americans that trying to negotiate good deals. Of course they are in for themselves, but who is not during a negotiation? Argentina needs to learn how to make deals that help the population and not the politicians.
