Bolivian Deputy Interior Minister Rodolfo Illanes has been killed after being kidnapped by striking mineworkers, the government said late on Thursday. Illanes had gone to talk to protesters earlier on Thursday in Panduro, around 160 km from the capital, La Paz, but was intercepted and kidnapped by striking miners. Read full article

Looks like “Cow Pat” (Evo Morales, the bovine president of Bolivia, check out his haircut) has gone into hiding. He will be gone from office in 2019 and given this disastrous turn of events it just shows how the referendum to stop him having a third term was exactly correct.
