Many congratulations, and hugely deserved. Ultimate success of building upon lack of opportunity and support to drive the industry in her homeland. A sad, 21st century failing, similar to many decades of bad treatment of aspiring, intelligent and hard working Falklands folk wanting to do the best for Falkands plc.

Fantastic news, however I'm sure she only left so that she could get 3G and a decent internet provider, perhaps it's Sure's fault we lost her?

I couldn't agree more with you. I was disgusted with that decision at the time. Shame on the board members. There was too much manipulation going on in that board In those days and possibly still is. Another good person was also lost from getting a post due to the same members. One of the members had such a personal bias against Debs she should have really abstained from voting.

Congratulations Debs, you have worked hard to get where you are and you deserve everything you've managed to achieve. Unfortunately for you too many people here would rather listen to the views of 2 year tourists (overseas contract workers) than those of people like you who give it your heart and sole and understand the Falklands.

I don't know anybody who has given their soul or their sole to the Malvinas and I doubt you know Debbie Summers so why are you pretending to be in agreement with the posters on this thread as if you're all over the story?

I presume then that Argentina has not yet reached the status of the outside world. You are hardly a world leader are you, don't you agree ?

    See /opensignal.com/reports/2015/11/argentina/state-of-the-mobile-network/

Globally Argentina ranks at the bottom in terms of coverage and in the bottom half of LTE countries in terms of speed, according to our State of LTE report. Compared to its regional peers, Argentina's LTE coverage falls short of South America's other major economies except Ecuador (though we don't have enough data points from Paraguay to make a comparison), but it did perform better in speed. Argentina boasted faster averages than Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela, though it was behind Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay. The regional leaders remain Brazil in speed (16 Mbps) and Uruguay in coverage (84 percent), according to our Q3 data.

Things move fast in the outside World, ya know...?

    https://opensignal.com/reports/2016/02/state-of-lte-q4-2015/...:

    LTE coverage by Country...:
    Irland.........: 44%
    France........: 51%
    Argentina..: 51%
    UK................: 53%

    LTE speed by Country...:
    Argentina...: 9 Mbps
    USA..............: 10 Mbps
    Japan...........: 12 Mbps
    Sweden......: 13 Mbps

In comparison..., them squatters in Malvinas have am average speed of 2 Mbps and a coverage of ~ 10%...
    Chuckle chuckle...

The service provider informs me that cost of the “Broadband Bronce Package” has just been reduced at only 75 £...
    Chuckle chuckle...

Prices for the “Silver, Gold and Platinum Packages” are personally informed at KEVIIMH' emergency ward...

If your country is soooooooo well covered can you explain the swathes of the country which appear to have no signal.
Again, using the old Argie method of comparing a tiny settlement with Argentine urban centres. Not exactly a fair comparison but, again, when was an Argie EVER fair.

    2) Again, I'm using the old Argie method of comparing the speed (~6 to ~8 Mbps) and price (30 U$D per month) of the internet connection at me humble Patagonian cabin, placed some 12 Argie leagues from the nearest tiny Argie settlement... to the sleepy capital town of the occupied Malvinas Islands; Puerto Estanley...

Yes, the Falklands are occupied by their rightful settlers...the Falkland islanders of non-Argentinian descent... apart from a few.
I think by now you must have got used to the fact that the Falklands and Argentina are going nowhere in discussions.
Cheer up, it gives you a purpose in life. What would your life be without your daily whine about the “Malvinas” etc. It probably keeps you going.
Let's face it, what anyone says here does not matter a monkey's.

It's just a chance to slag off each other's nationalities with the added benefit of there being no consequences to our words. Would we say this to each other's faces ? I doubt it.

You use “lowlander”, which can be conceived as a sub-division of Scottish, as a pejorative term. When you slag off the British then you are slagging off my prime nationality. This then evokes a response in me me to decry “ARGIES”.

    Well..., well..., well...

There goes that silly argument about them Kelpers being Kelpers first..., British second...

In your case, your own description pictures you as a Sassenach first, a Lowlander second and a Scot.... far third.

Get a grip and grow up ! What in God's name is your obsession with Scotland. It is nothing to do with you and your supercilious attitude.
You equate Briton with sassenach--pretty stupid . Try reading the history of Briton before your senility gets any worse.
I don't think you would be particularly welcome here except to the nutter brigade who think Bannockburn was yesterday !
You come across as a rather unpleasant character and have fostered a dislike of Argentina in me that was not there before I entered this forum.

Of course the other alternative is that you are a total wind-up merchant in the pay of Argentinian trolldom.

Humble as in Uriah Heep. I am unaware of any current British colonialism.
I don't even like all the Scots and I live with them and the same could be said for the English , Welsh and Irish, North and South.
Your use of the term Lowlander is meaningless. Do you mean by location , by birth or culture. Define Lowlander. It is a term practically never used ...the current expression would be people from the Central belt. The Borders is another region with it's own history and customs.
As for disliking you it is because you exhibit the characteristics of a bully.
You are perfectly at liberty to dislike me to even the score.

Your last sentence is totally incorrect. I have met many different peoples from all over the world and got on with them fine...from S.Africans, Zulus, Matabeles, Xhosas,Turks, Greeks, Spaniards, French, Germans, Italians, Poles, Dutch, Swedes, Danes, Finnish, Norwegians, Austrians Hungarians Czechs.
Indians. Napalis, Maoris, Fijians, Cook Islanders, Singaporans and many more if I could remember...I have been reasonably well travelled. I base my feeling for a country on those I have met. All I know about Argentina is what I glean from the posters here. If this is what they are all like then it colours my impression of Argentina

    Geeeeeeeeee...........

Their is NO English crown in the context of International affairs........get yourself a dictionary ...the spelling is E-N-G-L-I-S-H if you wish to be taken seriously,
Britain does not “crave” the Falklands.....we have them legally. Argentina is bursting a gut because it craves them and jealousy has clouded it's judgement.
It has NO chance of obtaining them unless the Islanders agree to your bullying demands to be ruled by a politically dodgy people. You still continue with histrionics on the basis that if you say it long and loud enough, it must be true despite evidence to the contrary
Your country also wants to engage in colonial expansion by taking over the sub-Antarctic islands.....why ? Is your huge land mass stolen from the original inhabitants and populated by immigrants like yourself not enough ?
    Sounds a bit like lebensraum.
