I guess that is why some countries are more developed than others. It's all about the effort.

Thanks to the British invention of the Internet.
    The American development of computing.
And the Australian invention of wifi.

It probably wasn't that onerous for someone to post this.

However as Argentina invented the biro.... well I can see why you would think this might entail more work than necessary.

    Enligtning them Turnips...

AFAIK. the Internet invention is officially attributed to Mr. Bob Kahn, genetically a Polish/Hungarian Jew and Mr. Vint Cerf, genetically a German Protestant...

AFAIK. the first (and second and third and fourth) working binary computer invention is officially attributed to Mr. Konrad Zuse genetically a German Protestant...

AFAIK. the Wi Fi wasn't invented, but evolved from the early work in the sixties of a scientific team composed of individuals of Polish, Swedish, Chinese, German and Anglosaxon genetic origin...

AFAIK. the Birome or Ball Pen was invented by Mr. Lazlo Biro, genetically a Austro/Hungarian Jew...

    German and Anglosaxon genetic origin...??????

I think you’ll find you cannot tell them apart, any more than you can tell Danes and Anglo Saxons apart, genetically speaking.

So we came in first in the table, with the Polish/Hungarian Jews some way behind in second.

Chinese probably think they’re a victim of a western plot.

    “genetically a German Protestant”

Protestantism is not usually attributed to DNA. Are we referring to “northern” Germans?

As if German Protestants and German Catholics have distinctly different genes! That is funny!

Additionally, a genetic makeup exists in an environment. These two, only taken together, lead to an organism's outwardly observable appearance and performance.

So, the credit has to be given to the culture that the “genes” exist in also.

The environment called, “Argentina” also has “genetically German Protestants”.

Brazil too. Have these “genetically German Protestants” made any comparable contributions to humanity. Why not, if they are of the same genes?

Note the use of the word.... development not invention.

Oh and Wi-Fi uses a standard. Hence why my country has made nearly half a billion dollars off its patent. Including your payment. Thank you. Unsure what their genetic makeup or religions were but AFAIK wifi is based on an invention of the CSIRO.

Fudge all you want. Can't change fact.

But so glad I got you working on a weekend! LOL

Guess the biro was invented by the first person to pluck a feather off a bird and dip it in ink.

Think- I do appreciate that successive Arg Governments- including the current on -fantasize about Colonial Ambitions and taking over a group of Islands AGAINST the wishes of its people - ie COLONIALISM.

But the UK gave up Colonialisation decades ago- that is why for a few decades ago the Foreign Office was renamed - Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

or do you still consider S.Africa-Canada-India etc to be British Colonies?

Yes the are a few very small Colonies still about- BECAUSE their PEOPLES WANT to remain in close association with the mother country - its called democracy.

Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee OM KBE FRS FREng FRSA FBCS (born 8 June 1955),[1] also known as TimBL, is an English computer scientist, best known as the inventor of the World Wide Web. He made a proposal for an information management system in March 1989,[3] and he implemented the first successful communication between a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) client and server via the Internet sometime around mid-November of that same year.[4][5][6][7][8]

For your info. Norman surname..so what. They arrived after 1066...almost 1000 years ago. I think that entitles them to be called British as no doubt their bloodline has been mixed with various Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Welsh, Irish,Scots and whoever their progenitors took a shine to.

if you had to isolate the key inventors of the Internet, it would have to be two people: Vinton Cerf and Robert Kahn. The WWW, which is different from the Internet, but what most people think of as the “Internet”, was invented later by Tim Berners-Lee. “A rose by any other name”

    Q:
Who invented the first ultrasound machine?
    A:
    Quick Answer
Dr. Ian Donald invented the first ultrasound machine in 1957 and tested it on patients a year later. The discovery was made in Glasgow, Scotland, and by the end of the 1950s ultrasounds became routine in Glasgow hospitals.

I can remember my sister telling me that she was using this new medical wonder in Rottenrow Maternity Hospital in Glasgow in 1959 when she was a mid-wife.
Like a lot of inventions, they were the result of various pieces of research that had gone on before.

I can remember seeing Ultrasound being used at Yarrow's during the building of a Frigate for the RN. They used it to test for flaws in the welding of the plates on the ship's hull.

As the only reason Argentina would want a regular air link with the Falkland Islands is so that they could shut it down when they thought it would be most awkward for the Islanders, why bother with one?

Meanwhile, the Argentine government will go to public hearings Sept. 16 on natural gas utility prices without revealing the real costs of production, transportationand distribution of gas.
Minister Aranguren has said the government is not obligated and will not present such information.
A study commissioned by the newspaper Página/12, meanhile, shows that two companies transporting gas (TGN and TGS) sent 63 million dollars and 225 million dollars respectively to its shareholders abroad in concept of “honorariums for technical assistance” between 1998 y 2015.
This demonstrates that, while the companies claimed to be unable to invest in improvements, they were sending large benefits abroad.
The maneuvers also allow the companies to claim losses and the need for higher tariffs.
While the companies' drive to maximize benefits is to be understood (after all, corporations' mission is to make profits for themselves) what is astounding is the minister's apparent participation in the maneuver by refusing to disclose the real numbers justifying the tariffs increases.
