The Nobel committee also awarded Obumma the 'Peace Prize' in 2009.

That didn't work out to well either:

It seems the committee hasn't learnt much in seven years.

Santo's entire presidency has been spent attempting to end a war that no previous president was capable of achieving for over half a century.

He is a worthy recipient as the leader of a country that sorely needs recognition of the advancements it has made to heal.

There will be peace. And no matter its shape, Santos deserves recognition for staging both sides this close.

All this does is to confirm the Nobel committee as a lot of politically driven fools -- not that it needed much confirmation after awarding peace prizes to people like Obama and Arafat.

If the Nobel price helps the peace process in Colombia, it will have fulfilled its intended role.
I totally agree with Skip's assessment at #5. Well put.
If anything, the plebiscite set back comes as a sore reminder of the extreme selfishness and backwardness of members of the wealthy class such as Uribe.

“If anything, the plebiscite set back comes as a sore reminder of the extreme selfishness and backwardness of members of the wealthy class such as Uribe.”

So you keep saying, but it would've passed if it was just wealthy people voting against it. And Uribe's father was killed by the FARC; do you think rich people don't love their parents too?
