The Argentine president posted his congratulations for Donald Trump as president-elect of the United States on his Twitter account. Malcorra wants quick transition. I congratulate @realDonaldTrump on his triumph and I hope we can work together for the good of our peoples, Macri said.
Argentine foreign minister Susana Malcorra also said in a radio interview that the Argentine government will seek the quickest and shortest possible transition to maintain the common agenda with the United States. We will have to adapt and we will do so with institutional responsibility, explained Malcorra, who said that the country's greatest concern is for a transition in the agenda as fast and as short as possible and that the Argentine government is willing to sit down with the team of Trump's choice to see what needs to be adjusted in the common agenda.
Federico Pinedo, Sspeaker of the Senate and third in line to Argentina's presidential succession, said changes are great. In his view, peoples and democracies will continue to interact, and more cooperation and less confrontation was to be expected from Argentina. We hope in Latin America we will work towards unity rather than division, to empower ourselves rather than isolate ourselves.
We in Argentina have to build a country with predictability and without fears, creating the confidence that will bring on good opportunities,” Pinedo said.
