Cristina Fernandez furious with Macri for the accusations against her mother

Argentine ex president Cristina Fernandez strongly defended her mother Ofelia Wilhelm who has been accused by the federal justice of fraud and pointed to president Mauricio Macri for the official investigation warning that “no matter how many cases are dumped on me, the fact is people don't make enough money to reach the end of the month”. She used her mother when it suited her so she shouldn't complain about it. Instead of losing her temper why not just let the judicial process take its course and if she, and her extended family, have done nothing wrong they will be found not guilty.

Just the scope and opportunity that is different.

If TMBOA is lucky, the little 0.22rf lr Bersa pistola will find its way to her in retribution for Nisman. I do hope so.

Mommy don't cry for me or Argentina. Remember I still have a nice piggy bank account that daddy left me for a rainy day. Daddy stashed away about million undeclared dollars for us just in case we might need to make a quick exit to Havana or Caracas. Granny can come along too. She loves to travel and usually picks up the bill for lunch. Maximo will have to stay home because he might require two extra seats on the aircraft. However that would be way beyond our budget or unless Maximo decides to go on a very strict diet. Life is tough but unlike all those people who supported us for the 12 years while printing pesos like papel higiénico we will overcome adversity. No matter how many cases are dumped on us, the fact is people don't make enough money to reach the end of the month. However we still have our piggy bank to get us through this period of political persecution and the support of our very loyal friends in Iran, Cuba and Venezuela

Can't believe MP commentators above are so gullible to take this parody as serious stuff.
    Come on, people.
You may disagree with CFK policies and that's alright.
However, to any observer, the mediation-judiciary offensive of a government that is rapidly taking Argentina in a downward spiral, has all the signs of desperate attempts to divert the public attention from the state of the economy.

    @ EM

Of course it is O.K. for us to disagree with the conduct of the K's. They robbed the country for years. That CFK is now in a position to answer for her actions is perfect justice.

I understand your political leaning but what you don't seem to be able to see is that the K's were a populist government playing to the crowd and buying votes to stay in power in order to steal vast sums of money from Argentines. It is not what they said but what they did that you should examine.

Argentina was destroyed under the K's policies. You must know that economies take years to turn around and what you are seeing is the tail end of the mess from years of under-investment, bad policy decisions and mass theft.

“if she, and her extended family, have done nothing wrong they will be found not guilty.”

You're sure the courts will judge her fairly then?

And supposing the judges are fair, if the next president wants to go after Macri and his family, is there dirt out there waiting to be dug up on them too?

I don't think that just because you have been president you should never have to face justice. If there is sufficient evidence for a trial it should go ahead. IF there is sufficient evidence. Imagine the alternative?

Do I think she will get a fair trial? Actually, yes. Too much is written on here about kangaroo courts and these countries being unable to govern themselves or apply their laws. I disagree.

I have yet to see first-hand criminal activity by Macri and his family but the same rules should apply.

USD 4,5 million ??? so it’s not as if 'mommy Ofelia' was receiving some small pension irregularly, and now the authorities are about to cancel the benefit....seems 'mommy', against her better judgment , agreed to be a front for one of CFK's scams, and now it’s catching up with them…

    @DT
I don't think the courts would condemn her without proof, but her reaction is to be expected. It's the same exact story with Lula here. Despite the ample proof of his stealing, influence trafficking and corruption, he claims he is persecuted....to get an idea of what this piece of crap is capable of to defend himself, he is now trying to create popular support for a movement in certain South American countries, by claiming that Dilma's impeachment and his 'persecution' was/is all a ploy by foreign powers, with the help of the Temer government, to take over the subsalt oil....paving the way for him to eventually request political asylum. Despite the absurdity of all this, he is counting on manipulation of the ignorant masses to get away with it....apparently he is quite prepared to go down as a martyr, but provided it is in some tranquil location where he can live comfortably off his ill-gotten gains, and orchestrate his smear campaign against Brazil.

Fair enough. I certainly don't think former presidents, or anyone else, should be immune from justice. It is all the stuff that people write on here that made me wonder about the courts.

And also if half the things people say on here are true, there should be much bigger fish to go after than CFK's mother.

Anyway, in my experience people as rich as the Macris usually stick to doing things that really should be illegal, but aren't, so they can't be prosecuted.

What do you think of CFK giving up on appeals and asking for an immediate trial? It's a shame there's no lawyers on here who might know how solid the dollar futures case is.

    @ Jack Bauer
Reminds me of Maduro blaming all his problems on the CIA. I wonder where Lula will go since left-wing governments are not so common in SA these days.

Anyway, since it actually appears that every single politician in Brazil is corrupt, it should be possible to 'persecute' any of them in that way when convenient. It's also worrying that the ones still in power are busy trying to let themselves off, when what is needed is to reform the system.

Again, people, if you don't like CFK please go ahead.

I do question, however, people acting as cheerleaders of a clownish government bent on distracting as it pushes Argentina to abyss. Have some self respect.

MP commentators were jumping up and down when Clarin published defamatory stories about Maximo Kirchner, CFK's son. All total fabrication.

They were gung-ho when a judge searched security boxes of Florencia Kirchner, CFK's daughter. No smoking gun.

And those same commentators proclaim, as Marti Llazo does--without smiling--that the Kirchners are no doubt “corrupt.”

Elaine, who I thought somehow open-minded, applauds: ”(Marti Llazo) shoots, he scores.“

And Mendoza Canadian adds some dramatism to the mix: ”Why isn't she (CFK) in handcuffs right now???“

Come on, people. While you are still posting nonsense, Clarin ”denunciations” have been going the way of the dodo after accomplishing their sought-after public opinion effect.

And while as wide-eyed Elaine said everything is okay once the courts establish guilt or non-guilt, the real motivation for starting a new attack exactly one year after the famous presidential debate in which Macri lied through his teeth in front of rival Daniel Scioli is obvious...to most but to MP commentators.

Specially when one informs oneself about this case and finds out that the worker's cooperative El Aldabón Limitada outsorced about 50% of their postal distribution work to a private company called... SOCMA, owned by a certain Mr. Franco Macri... Juppppp... Mr. Franco Macri...; president Mauricio Macri's daddy...

Specially when one informs oneself about the case and finds out that Mme. Cristina Kirchner's Mom...; Mme. “wide-eyed Elaine” Rude. I defended you when people were calling you names and said you have a right to your opinion, as do I. If the courts are not to decide if the law has been broken who do you think should?

EM You are too blinded by your love for CFK and her band of crooks. I witnessed the deterioration of Argentina as the K's stole money that should have gone into rebuilding the country. They destroyed the economy with stupid policies from the schoolboy Kicillof. They stayed in power by bribing the poor, extortion and intimidation. But even K supporters could see that the country had deteriorated and did not chose CFK's anointed one. The Argentine people decided they had enough of the Ks and voted for an alternative. Surely you respect the people of Argentina - the people that live there - to decide who governs their country?

Lula's son has already arranged himself in Uruguay, where the governent is sympathetic towards Dilma and Lula and all their leftist BS, but it has come out that Lula, already for quite some time (since march 2015), is working to project the image of a victim, politically persecuted, just because of his 'progressive' ideas....his escape plan apparently, includes using his wife's dual nationality - Brazilian/Italian - to obtain refuge in the Italian embassy in Brasilia, while waiting to be conceded political asylum, and to then obtain safe conduct to the airport, so he can disappear and squander his ...or rather, 'our' money.

    Elaine:

Oooops! My unreserved apologies, Elaine. I totally misunderstood your line and overreacted. My bad.

    Jack Bauer:

“You love to contest what posters put on here, yet you never prove them wrong...”

Look, Jack: It's not up to me to teach you how to read the news. When you read the original article in Clarín and notice they never contacted or attempted to contact anybody in the famous co-operative, you begin to pay attention. When you listen to an interview with the 80-year-old guy in charge of the co-op who confirms Clarín did not talk to him before breaking the news on this “corruption” case, you begin asking yourself serious questions.

And then, you learn, as Think rightly pointed out, that original contracts started long before Kirchnerism and that the Socma group of Franco Macri was party in said contracts, you really scratch your head.

However, most MP readers hate CFK and make a cheerleading choir whenever a judge makes a move against her--or somebody in her family. Nonetheless, those judicary attacks are becoming and reaching the apex with CFK's mother. You just watch and see where it's going and where it ends. It's easy to denounce...not so easy to prove somebody's guilt.

Just as an example, if you look back at the front-page stories in Clarín about Máximo Kirchner where they even gave a number of his bank account before the bank denied that such account ever existed, you should--at the very least--be skeptical.

    Marti:

President Macri lied through his teeth in order to become president of the Argentines and is now presiding over the quickest and deepest deterioration of Argentina's economy in its whole history.

Of course, to try and delay society's reactions, Macri must continue his game, even after being almost a year in government: “The Ks stole everything.”

Now, you choose to be a brainless cheerleader or a serious, more balanced analyst.

I don't “hate” CFK....why would I lose any sleep over her raging and ranting, or harbour a grudge against her, when all it would do is affect me emotionally ? when I read about people defending tyrants like CFK, and LULA in Brazil for that matter - who go beserk and claim they are being persecuted “just” because of their ideas and because they “did so much for the people” - it is hard to dismiss the tons of accusations from many different sources, all pointing in the same direction.....as I've said before, their reactions against the accusations are proportional to their guilt. Anyone, who is completely innocent, just shrugs it off and says 'prove it'.....why go overboard and counter-attack so aggressively ?
Allow the accusations to surface then counter them, one by one....but it's easy to understand their desperation as the end nears.

    ON THE WAY TO DISASTER.
If i were a foreign tourist who visits Argentina for a few weeks, and who decides to watch the hegemonical press that supports this government, i would see that corrupts exist just in F.P.V., maybe that's why , all those people who buy Macri's hypocritical argument about what his administration calls, ''heavy inherance'', couldn't explain that if it soposes that he didn't have any other alternative than making hard cuts, because the former government stole the whole national treasure, then how is it possible that one of the first measures taken by the new government was to reduce such important taxes like the agrarian ones, and the mining ones?, if there are still some people who haven't realized yet, the reduction of those taxes, is being replaced by cuts and by a new cycle of foreign debt, even in many conservative newspapers around the world are warning about the dangerous policy of Macri's administration, which is increasing foreign debt more than any other, in such a short period. Only injudicious people who just have mediocre ideological preconcepts can ignore these objetive facts, and blame C. F. K. only. I have never had any problem with people who have ideological differences with me, but what bothers me a lot, is when there are people who don't know a shit about Argentina, who just buy the ignorant view, characteristic of first world nations, and who dare to tell us what we should do.
Beyond the love and admiration i feel for what Cristina represents, and although i defend all the achievements that workers could get during the 12 years and a half of kirchnerism, untill the last day of my life, i can't assure whether the ex president is inocent or guilty, in fact, only a serious justice can determine it, but i'm not an imbecile to ignore that in some cases there is a true persecution against her, which is used as a great smoke curtain to avoid the discussion of the economic and social disaster that Macri's policies are provoking.

    Any more interesting videos ?

    @axel arg

So you doubt that Macri inherited a heavy burden from CFK ? It is pretty clear you understand little or nothing about economic principles....if Macri has decided to cut back those taxes, it was to remove the yoke from such important sectors to the country, to stop stranging them in order to allow them to thrive once again. It has nothing to do with ideology, simply sound economic policy. Governments which prioritize ideology, then try to mold the economy around it, always fail.
What foreign power is telling Argentina how to govern itself ? who has the influence to interfere in domectic decisions ? I think you'll find it's the people, as they did when they gave CFK the boot....why don't you accept reality and stop whining ? It's probably very frustrating for you to accept the fact that your platonic love for CFK will always be just that, but it's preventing your few brain cells from functioning properly.

There are people who would disagree with your claim that “but i'm not an imbecile to ignore that in some cases there is a true persecution against her” because, first, you are acting like an imbecile, and second, criminals usually 'are' persecuted....it's what the Law is for.

I think axel arg is complaining about the back seat drivers on here who think they know how to run Argentina. But in the not-too-distant past the IMF was telling Argentina how to govern itself, and it did not turn out well for Argentina.

What do you think of Macri's borrowing anyway? That doesn't seem like an especially sound economic policy. Perhaps he should have kept those taxes in place until he was able to reduce spending enough to compensate?

“....the back seat drivers on here who think they know how to run Argentina....”

-- Since it's clear that the Argentines themselves don't know how to run Argentina, it's only reasonable to give all comers a shot at it. In fact I think that Cuba has proposed a perfect economic model for Argentina.

    ----

“What do you think of Macri's borrowing anyway? ”

--- It's classic, time-tested Argentine economic policy. After a sobering period while no sensible party will lend them money, Argentina will seduce the witless financial press, acquire the heaviest debt load possible while simultaneously reducing its ability to sustainably make payments, increase its inflation to murderous levels, and then repave the roads to Chile so that the borrowed money might be spent on truckloads of Cadbury chocolates and 110-inch Samsung LED televisions. The sooner the default occurs, the better, so that Argentina can quickly return to its traditional uncreditworthy pariah-state condition, re-start the Ford Falcon production line, and howl at the moon that it's everyone elses' fault.

    @DT
I think Axel is getting over-emotional about it ; I don't think anyone here is insinuating they can do a better job than Macri, but 12 years of incompetence sure takes its toll, especially when instead of adopting serious austerity measures, the government tries to keep just enough constituents happy - to bolster its popularity - by creating expensive, improductive social programmes.
The IMF has the habit of telling people what to do, we've had our share of it - the pressure from the IMF , many times, while considering only the country's insertion on the worls scene, ignores internal or social resistance to implementing such measures.
Borrowing is a delicate matter....while there is insufficient domestic capital to finance an economic recovery, international loans become the solution, BUT - if it's allowed to get out of control, the interest rates will just chew away at your GDP...but not only interest on international loans, also on the internal public debt...In Brazil we are paying about R$ 450 billion per year in interest on the Federal debt alone...about 15% of the GNP, going down the drain, just to service the debt, in detriment of more important investments.
But going back to Macri, it's a delicate balancing act in contracting essential capital, without going overboard and compromising future development.

If i don't usually answer the comments of people who underestimate me, is because i love my self too much, and i'm not disposed to waste my time with mediocre people don't have any argument, and who just can insult all those who don't think like them, but i would be too unfair if i thought that most of the readers here, are that kind of social scum, in fact, there are also other citizens who don't insult me, despite they have deep ideological differences with me, my message is for these people. I can only tell them that i don't believe in the falacies of the so called free market, i have never bought the idiot lie that some cretins want to make us believe, about the soposed invisible hand of market. I'm 35 years old, and i have grown up hearing about the all those lies, and the only thing i saw, is how my country got worse when were applied all those meausers that benefit mostly economic power. Macri's economic policies aren't new, in fact, they were implemented also during the dictatorship, during Menem's government in the 90's, and with De la Rua since 1999 untill 2001, and the results were always exactly the same, (more unemployment, more unequality, a high foreign debt, and a large number of citizens who had to leave the country, because there were no opportunities to progress).
Cristina's administration wasn't perfect in absolute, beside, there were some very important problems that she didn't solve, like inflation, insecurity, etc, but unless her politic project gave Argentina a much better country than during the dictatorship, Menem and De la Rua, that's why, it wasn't necesary to leave Argentina anymore.

    Axel,

The country got worse because there is a lot of people stealing and we as a nation do nothing to stop that.

It's all about cycles. The 90's were the yuppies' turn. Last 12 years were the zurdos' turn.

We had worst cycles, the milicos' turn vs the civilians' turn ... before that Radicales vs Conservadores and before that Federales vs Unitarios.

I believe you have heard and seen lots of things in your 35 years. I am somehow surprised that all this time you haven't been able to detect such a simple pattern.

Neat postulate that one about the “cycles” in Argentina...
    Now, my question is...:
Who do you Think... the various “Unitarios” “Restauradores”, “Conservadores”, “Milicos” y “Yuppies” cycles (including the present Macri one) served...?

They didn't serve me. Neither did the zurdos and peronistas. The self serving groups “que supimos conseguir!” That's the real WAY TO DISASTER that Axel so dramatically denotes.

Tell us just one thing..., which cycle of your short adult life has been best until now...?
    The Alfonsinista...?
The Pisa com Champán y la Ferrari es mía..., mía..., mííííííííía...?
    The Helicopterista...?
    The Kirchnerista...?
    The Macrista...?

Pretty speech, but no substance. After your admission that “I can only tell them that i don't believe in the falacies of the so called free market”, it is easy to understand your grudge against Macri. And I presume that the only person you love more than CFK, is yourself...how bloody pathetic.
By the look of it, seems you would prefer a 100% nationalized economy, so why don't you admit it ? you think communism is the solution....the main difference is that the State owns everything, and your options are zero....great system for people with no initiative....and if you get fed up with your lot and dare to complain, if you're lucky, you'll only be shipped off to some 'gulag”...good luck you 'commie' professor...

    Think,

How old am I? How dare you?

I'm 46. The best years where 96-97, last quarter of 2002 thru the end of 2005, and I had some smear of hope during early 2010 but that quickly faded away.

Supposing you are right, a lot of people on here said that Argentina was turning into Venezuela, because of the Ks. Do you think this isn't true? Is there much difference between Chavismo and the K government? Chavez was also widely loved, but Venezuela is now a mess.

    @ TF
How long do you think the current cycle will last? Think says a lot of K supporters will win at the next election, since the economy is doing so badly under Macri.

    Axel Argues,
that CFK “wasn't perfect”, but should not be persecuted because was better than Menem.

Think/voice goes one better and has shifted the topic completely away from
' is Evita K gonna fry because she will be convicted of gross corruption and theft?',
to a discussion of cycles of differing ideologies.

    Just another Think/voice distraction tactic.

Looks as though CFK is now acting in contempt of court, in avoiding a court-ordered appearance today related to a trial that is scheduled for December. She was ordered to appear to “play the piano” as we say here.... to have fingerprints taken. One of the court's options at this point is to have her arrested and forcibly transported to the required appearance, though the usual practice is to first issue a warning. CFK has already divested herself of most goods and properties to make it harder for the court to seize them in the event of a conviction.
