Britain dismissed U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's unprecedented expression of support for Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage to be made British ambassador to Washington, saying pointedly that there is no vacancy for the job. Trump, who after his election victory met Farage before any EU leaders, said on Twitter that “many people” would like to see the former metals trader turned politician as Britain's ambassador. Why does the UK Govt go out of their way to snub Trump and then expect preferential treatment with a trade deal...
    He's not a politician...he's not a diplomat, he doesn't understand etiquette...
Humour him and let him down gently...
I'm thinking he's probably keen on flattery....it's very cheap and usually works...

It seems not to have occurred to the British that Trump is in the process of creating a vacancy. Looks like he's going to say to the ambassador of the UK, “You're fired!”

    HEP.

We are not quite as dumb as you imply. We know that an incoming president appoints his own ambassadors and that the incumbent will be returning statewise.

Why should we pander to Trump ? How has he been “snubbed”. He tweets and expects results in his favour.

The special relationship ONLY applies to military matters. When the USA wants someone to rubber-stamp their actions.

Mostly intelligence sharing. I am not sure why people like Hep still don't understand that as we have explained it many times here.

I actually think we will have a pretty good relationship with Trump's administration. Sociopaths are pretty easy to handle as they are susceptible to flattery and ego stroking. A bit of time with the Queen and he will be besotted.

Just like pathological liars such as yourself in fact.

Have you EVER posted on here WITHOUT obfuscation or telling a direct lie?

Remember what the psychologists teach about human nature: ALL thieves think ALL people steal and ALL liars think ALL people lie.

The later part is so you.

Standing up to Trump I see. Bet your mother is so pleased.

Headline: Trump grabs the queen's pu$$y?

    Ohhhhhhhh . . . . you don't Trump near the royals unnecessarily.

    Poor windsors!

Trump would be trying to do a real estate deal to them.

Princes better keep an eye on their women of they'll follow Trump home.

    Royals vs. Trump?

You'd be a fool to bet on any team as feckless as there's.

    Bring it on!

    lol.
