Argentina has not been included in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s ranking of education quality because the information provided by the country was deemed insufficient. The OECD-designed PISA test evaluates the academic performance of 15-year-olds in 71 countries around the world in math, science and reading comprehension. It’s been conducted every three years since 2000. Read full article

Dec 07th, 2016 - 11:44 am - Link - Report abuse -6I love this statement:
”“We have worked since President Macri took office to be committed to the truth,” he said during a press conference. “And (previous results) resemble a country that had no commitment to statistics and truth.”
Minister of Education Esteban Bulrich said they made a “serious mistake” in their testing methodology during the Kirchner administrations.”
BsAs of course has The English School, which the children of the Argentine family from next door went to, as did their parents.
Lovely people who speak English in preference to Jibber-jabber.
Reminds us of the good ol' Kirchnerist INDEC - we don't want to reveal the appalling poverty statistics so we won't publish the numbers
Dec 07th, 2016 - 12:01 pm - Link - Report abuse +3Ah, yes, they didn't want to stigmatise the poor so they pretended they didn't exist.
Dec 07th, 2016 - 12:18 pm - Link - Report abuse +3Peronist believes the World works as they made Argentina worked 70 year ago. The World doesn't accept misleading as the regular procedures.
Dec 07th, 2016 - 04:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Looks as though cheating on the part of Argentine educational authorities may have had something to do with this country's being excluded. The earlier contention that Argentina was excluded due to too small a sampling may have been less of an issue, or a ruse. Of course, this was during the corrupt Kirchner government, so no one is really surprised.

Dec 08th, 2016 - 07:23 pm - Link - Report abuse +2You ever coming back to the comments on 'Austria's Sunday presidential election with an eye on Brexit and Trump's victory', ChrisR? I'm starting to think ElaineB is right.
@ DT
Dec 09th, 2016 - 11:04 am - Link - Report abuse 0I am working on practical things around the house and a project which is taking virtually all of my time up, despite what the PLEB claims for me, she can't help it of course.
If you want to think the PLEB 'is right' then do so.
Do you really consider that your naivety is a match for a pathological liar? Best of luck with that one.
It is going to be at least the end of February before I will be doing any routine posts, so you and your new girlfriend can 'enjoy' yourselves.
Depending on how the project goes, I might just have a little surprise for the two of you.
@ ChrisR
Dec 09th, 2016 - 01:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I shall not expect to see you around for a while then. Not sure what your project can have to do with me when you're on a different continent, but fine. I expect it will be an unpleasant surprise anyway.
Also, lol at Do you really consider that your naivety is a match for a pathological liar? Stupid question. If I was really that naive, then of course I'd think that!
But I'll let you get back to your project, wouldn't want to give you difficult questions to answer.
