Sweden's military back to Cold War era mode in view of Russia's expansion
Sweden's Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), an authority operating under the Defense Ministry and tasked with civil protection, public safety, emergency management and civil defense, has instructed local governments to reactivate the “Total Defense Strategy” civil defense procedures from the Cold War and be prepared for an armed conflict because “the security situation in our region has deteriorated.” Read full article

This is the perfect example of a useless military. Why spend so much money when you know you will try declaring neutrality all the time? And why declare neutrality? Because you know you have no fighting chance. So why spend the money if you will declare neutrality?

This here proves my point, if your military cannot defeat all possible opponents then it makes no sense to have a military.

Also defence treaties make a larger combined military...(NATO)

Though..., one can't deny that their ”Armed & well D E F E N D E D neutrality Policy (along with that other armed & well D E F E N D E D neutral Country in the middle of Europe) has been successful during the last many, many years...
You are right Mr. Think it has been proven to be profitable...but not everyone can declare it...

It is all for show, Toby does have a point Sweden are not capable of doing anything to Russia or defending themselves...
Only the French and UK nukes are any sort of deterrent...
