A bus tour of Buenos Aires focused solely on its most traditional football stadiums will be available starting Monday, the city's Tourism Authority announced. Under the name of Barrios Futboleros (Football Neighbourhoods) the new service will make stops at Boca Juniors, River Plate, San Lorenzo, Huracán and Argentinos Juniors.
The whole tour is expected to last around five hours and it will be free of charge, on condition of registering online beforehand. The free ride does not include access to pitches or museums wherever clubs already charge for it.
The tour bus will operate Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with seating capacity for 23 passengers. In addition to the tour guide, an audio system in three languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese) will be available.
Unlike the traditional circuits of Buenos Aires, the football tour travels across ten neighbourhoods that are not usually visited by tourists. It will also offer audiovisual stories to add to the entertainment of the passengers, who before arriving at each stadium, will have been briefed on what to expect or to look for as told by journalists and football legends of each club.
The identity of each neighborhood, and therefore of our City, is marked by clubs, which are also great social nuclei for the neighbors, Buenos Aires City Minister of Modernization, Innovation and Technology and Chairman of the City Tourism Authority Andy Freire said.
