Falklands/Malvinas negotiations have no third leg, “they are bilateral, Argentina and UK”

Argentina's Lower House Foreign Affairs committee formally constituted the All parties Parliamentary Observatory on the Malvinas Question, claiming congressional participation in all bilateral agreements with the UK referred to Falklands/Malvinas resources and underlining that there is no such thing as a third leg, Falklands residents in negotiations with the UK. The fairy-tale sovereignty claim continues in a variety of guises. It's good for fools and those poor souls that have allowed themselves to become indoctrinated:

And keeps some Argentinians in employment.

Agree Bob, they're still trying to deny the rights of peoples as stated on numerous occasions from the UN

It matters not what the Argentines 'demand'. Their bi-lateral negotiation nonsense will never get beyond their own talking shop they laughingly call their 'elected' lawmakers.

Argentina can say what is wants, but until and UNLESS the people of the Falklands decide to talk to Argentina, then the UK won't talk to them either.

Argentina deludes itself into believing that the true and native inhabitants of the Falkland Islands don't matter and therefore don't have a say, when the truth is that the Falkland islanders are the ONLY people that matter. Why? Because only they have the RIGHT to decide their countries future.

Currently they are happy with being a British Overseas Territory, but one day they may decide the time is right to become an independent nation in their own right.

The one thing I am absolutely certain of is that the Falkland Islands will NEVER be a part of Argentina...EVER.

The UK will back the people of the Falklands until the world ends.

In the meantime, Argentina will continue to be a failed country, and it's people, rather than work towards making it the successful country it should be (given all the natural resources it has), will cry and blame the British and the Falkland Islanders for their own failures and their own laziness of making something of their lives.

Their shared delusion that only, IF only they had sovereignty over the Falkland Islands that all of their problems would magically disappear, and the roads and pavements of Argentina would magically turn into gold, and everyone in Argentina would be rich is just that...a delusion.

In the meantime the Falklands goes from strength to strength...and Argentina continues to flounder and fail.

“the attendance of Islanders in the negotiation rounds does not mean a third leg to the table: they simply belong to the British representation, which is the second leg of the table, while the first is Argentina”.

Most competitions run over two legs are not usually decided till after the second leg.

If these legs (table legs?)have feet on them then the first leg will be Pasco and Peppered with bullet holes near to a state of collapse.

Quite reasonable I guess that the islanders are on the British side, as they want to be British. No problem how many legs are on the table, 3, 2, 25 or 25000.

If the Argentines feel that has given them some type of victory, however, they seem to be blind to the bleedin obvious that the islanders choose to be ON the British and not on their side.

Which is just a tiny unsolvable problem for them.

So to get the Islanders to join onto the first leg, here is the Argentines 'unbeatable 'plan.

Suggest a return to the Communications Agreement of the 1970s, oblivious to the fact that the Islanders no longer need Argentine aircraft to connect them with anywhere, do not need Argentine oil tanks anymore, don't need mouldy fruit delivered and don't need any white cards, don't need to go to Argentine schools, and don't need to go to Argentine hospitals. What's the betting this will be put forward though?

Now boys, let us be clear on the subject of the FALKLANDS. The first leg of the table is the UK as they discovered it. The second leg is the FALKLANDERS as they live and govern the islands and lastly ( personally I think it is a stool only having 3 legs ) it is Argentina that want to usurp and colonise the FALKLANDS. Anyone disagree ?

Keep telling yourself that all you like dear, it doesn't change the fact that the UK Government will not discuss issues of substance about the Islands without Islanders present. That's why Islanders were (and remain) a central part of the discussions on identification of remains, and why Islanders were (and remain) a central part of the discussions on other issues.

There is no future in denying the existence of a people; even their so-called allies in the region regard it as a foolish policy.

In the mean time we are happy to keep on keeping on; it may not always be comfortable, but my God it drives us on to succeed in building our economy, our society and our country. And we are doing quite well at that..............

“the attendance of Islanders in the negotiation rounds does not mean a third leg to the table: they simply belong to the British representation, which is the second leg of the table, while the first is Argentina”.

So, according to the observers in the ‘Observatory’, the table has two legs the biggest being the Argentine leg and the smallest the British leg. A very unstable table indeed.

This unsatisfactory table is a metaphor for Argentina’s delusional sovereignty claim – they are both doomed to fall over.

And this delusional Lady is a close associate of Macri? Just goes to show the total fantasy world of even this Govt in Argentina!
AS folks say - they do not - and never ever will get the message - that any talks with them about any Falklands Issues ONLY happen if we Islanders want to talk!
Send the silly bitch to the next round if there is one - and see what she does when she finds out that the Islands Govt people there are basically making the decisions as well.

“Now boys, let us be clear on the subject of the FALKLANDS. The first leg of the table is the UK as they discovered it.”

Correct, my sarcasm was misplaced. But the Argentines claiming to be the first leg is a metaphor, for anything that they claim regarding history, Islander's UN rights, colonialism etc that can always be turned against them.

    Downunder has demonstrated this:

*So, according to the observers in the ‘Observatory’, the table has two legs the biggest being the Argentine leg and the smallest the British leg. A very unstable table indeed.“

So the Argentines removing a third leg, has meant there is no effective table or chair.

GC:”it is Argentina that want to usurp and colonise the FALKLANDS”

Agreed absolutely, another use of the first leg metaphor that Argentina berates colonialism, yet cannot see the irony that they themselves are espousing colonialism and usurpation the very thing they are against.

To be honest, if the Argentines through macho pride want to insist that it's Argentina V Britain minus the Falkland Islanders, the fact is that whether Falkland Islanders directly represent themselves in, or are part of a British delegation ,( that lets face it, they voted to remain part of), it makes sod all difference because their voice will still be heard by any Argentine delegation.

An argentine victory would only occur, if Islanders were excluded from such meetings altogether.

I think there should be lots of heated meetings where the two sides can pour over the history (cited), UN regulations on self determination, the purpose of the C24 (as stated in their objectives), the redundant 2065 (which nowhere goes against the Islanders case to be in the Islands), as the myth could be deconstructed bit by bit and everyone could have a lot of fun.

Surely the British government should not even be talking to these argies until they renounce their false claim ,

The islands are British , and always will be as long as the islanders want them to be,

Argentina should concentrate on stealing Chicken eggs, its cheaper easier and much more -
    safer ??

Argentina needs to get back on track if it wants any more cooperation from U.K. and FIG.
