Very important meeting. Hope it goes well.

I don't think anyone is listening to you and you have no power to stop it. Trump has a bit of a soft spot for the U.K. and I am sure TM will exploit it to the fullest. Trump wants the EU to break up so he is going to foster good trade with the U.K. to encourage other EU countries to break away. However, our leaving the EU is some years away so nothing much will happen for a while.
Take them fancy leather trousers on, Theresa...

With the wind down of the UN as well, I guess Argentina will have to rethink its Falklands strategy. More whining probably

Jan 26th, 2017 - 02:03 pm - Link - Report abuse +3From our South Atlantic base we can see and hear so much.
So what you are saying is the UK will exploit the USA (exploit), while knowing this action simultaneously harms the people across the channel.
Jan 26th, 2017 - 02:23 pm - Link - Report abuse -6Exploiting one side while hurting another.
Sounds like the Britain of... well, always! :)
@TTT
Jan 26th, 2017 - 05:57 pm - Link - Report abuse +3In what way is it harming other people? Once we are out of the EU we are on our own and have to make deals that are good for the U.K. And the EU is a huge trading block so I really think they can take care of themselves.
You said it yourself: May will try to get Trump to give preferential treatment to the UK, because it will try to use Trump's dislike of the EU as leverage to put a cushion under the UK's somewhat uncertain situation. So it will try to exploit Trump's need for an ally in the world, while at the same time being an accessory to Trump's desire to weaken the EU (which is also Putin's goal... just another coincidence I guess). So in effect, May will be ultimately playing the role of the Kremlin's client.
Jan 26th, 2017 - 06:15 pm - Link - Report abuse -5I guess that's what May had in mind for her new Global Britain: Being Russia's b----ch, by undermining Europe, via America.
Not exactly the Glamorous Global Britain some May (pun intended) have been hoping for...
:(

Not really relevant, he is not threatening to do that.

You sound a lot like ChrisR who criticises the British PM because she is a woman.
Fidel Nostrils,
I guess that's what May had in mind for her new Global Britain: Being Russia's b----ch, by undermining Europe, via America
Or are you resentful that the EU was undermining the U.K. and the wise up and got out?
The EU is responsible for its collective actions, and they do what serves them best, just as the US is doing, and the UK needs to do.
Just like Argentina is doing, but you have a history of crying that nobody is helping Argentina, and the invisible British sepoys” are to blame for all Argentina's ills.
Grow up
No you shouldn't. No one is asking you or wanting you to lead. Just behave like all others, that will suffice.
Jan 27th, 2017 - 11:43 am - Link - Report abuse 0Do you mean others like Argentina? No, that won’t suffice, not while mendicant, self-obsessed nations like Argentina inhabit the planet. Countries who make little or no positive contribution to the international community and world order but who expect to be taken seriously and have their demands acceded to.
The world needs countries like the UK to step up and provide the leadership needed to oppose the oppressors and those who would oppress if they could. The UK and her allies have a proven track record in providing world leadership and hopefully she will continue this role into the future.
@TTT
Jan 27th, 2017 - 01:49 pm - Link - Report abuse +2I am not really sure what point you are trying to make. The U.K. will be making new trade agreements when it leaves the EU and they will be in the best interests of the U.K. That is how all trade agreements work.
@ Kanye
I just mentioned the amusing fact. The percentage of Canadians supporting the idea of the wall was not available but I imagine it may be in 90%+ now.
Ms. Elaine,

This British premier is too arrogant. The US leads and the British follow. This woman, and all British, need to understand that.
