Nostrils, you should go there and see what its like. The internet is often a place for malcontents, nutters and whingers just like yourself.

The former for - finally - opening up the economy, making it much more flexible, the latter for making sure the banks didn't start a local sub-prime market, the main reason we didn't fall into a recession when so many western countries did, courtesy of the GFC.

Recessions aren't always necessarily a bad thing as they help to reduce imbalances in an economy that build up over time. But there is no recession facing Australia in the short term and we'll probably see out the rest of the decade with continual growth.
The difference, Troll boy IS that Australia is, to use your hackneyed phrase, an ANGLO country.
