Argentina's statistics agency Indec, said on Wednesday 12-month inflation through April was 27.5%, the first time it has published 12-month inflation since President Mauricio Macri took office in December 2015 and revamped data calculations. Good for you Argentina and Macri. As Argentina fight to move on a proper course, my idiot president, Drumpf continues to easily become to Christina Kirchner of the USA and effortlessly continues to destabilize American democracy.
The traitor meets Russian Lavron in the White House and only allows Russian media and turns American and free world media away!! The WH will need to be debugged when he is removed from office.

It's heartening to know that we're not in the 40s for inflation, but living here, you still feel it in your pocket.
Light at the end of the tunnel maybe.

Nice to see that credibility for INDEC statistics is being re-established.

Better still, the agreed rate of Inflation is dropping too!

Well done, Macri. A nice change from the K's.

    Now, drop this Malvinas nonsense.

Can anyone explain what is keeping the peso so high, at around 16 to the USD, given the inflation rate. When Macri came in 18 months ago he immediately devalued the peso and it went down from around 9.5 to about 15 almost immediately and the “blue” (black) market virtually disappeared. Given that at that time inflation was running at about 40% and is now down to 27.5% (if we can believe these figures), by my estimation the peso/dollar rate should now be about 25, not 16...!!! And this is impression is re-infoced by simply comparing RG shop prices with those in “expensive” countries like the UK. IMO, even at 25 to the $ Argentine prices would still be expensive. As a minor example - I could supply dozens more - I just bought 150g of imported (of course) blueberries for 65p (13 pesos) in ALDI. And don't even talk to me about the absurdly high cost of a side-by-side fridge.

    Are any economists reading this?

Inflation continues to make a dent on the income of Argentines, only in a context of falling economic activity, with consumption, industrial activity and many other indicators remaining firmly planted in the red.

It would've been interesting if MP had bothered to report the massive demonstration two days ago against a Supreme Court ruling that could shorten prison terms of many convicted state terrorist criminals, on a 3-to-5 majority ruling where two judges are Macri appointees.

Fast, unprecedented borrowing that followed Argentina's “return to the world” is going to seriously handicap future recovery efforts once the current administration of CEOs becomes another sad chapter of Argentina history.

Poor idiot Enrique thinks that inflation is the result of a Supreme Court ruling that could shorten prison terms.

More to be pitied than censured, the poor idiot.

Do you think it was a sympathetic Italian or one of the tourists graffitiing Europe?

    @DT
    Great catch!
There are numerous Argentins living in Italy, some of which demonstrated against the shameful 2x1 ruling.

“Macri gato” is becoming the new rallying cry in Argentina.

There are also loads of tourists from Argentina, I was surprised how many.

The article says that Congress has changed the law to prevent this rule being applied again, so does that mean there is no more need to worry about it?

The government in Rome should really clean up the graffiti though, it doesn't give a good impression of the city.
