The abuses were committed by individuals not the church... The church may have overlooked them or not known again by individuals not the church....

The abuses were committed by individuals under cover of the church, tallison, and the history of this church reveals a long trail of grotesque abuses as a part of its policies. The legacy of covering up the more recent abuses is also a matter of church policy and practice. The church is just as guilty as its minions. To argue otherwise is to similarly suggest that only the individuals participating in Nazi abuses could be culpable, that Nazism itself was above reproach.
