Actually the event was rather international and allowed much of the country to momentarily put aside the political conflict.

Lionel and Antonella had known each other since they were five and they had been boyfriend and girlfriend since they were 12-13 years old.

Messi, Pique, and Fabregas had played together in La Macia since they were 11. Those teams used to win games by 20 to 30 goals. Antonella, Gerard Pique's old girlfriend, and Cesc Fabregas's girlfriend are very close friends. That is why, Shakira, Pique's new girlfriend, and Antonella do not get along that well. However, they are not enemies, either. Antonella and Luis Suarez' wife (Balbi) have a boutique business together. Barça it is much more that a football team - it is a team of friends. It is my team since I was 5 or 6. My Grandparents are from Catalunya. In other words, I am an Argentine-Catalan and a Cule. Visca Catalunya Independent!

I am very concerned and distraught that EUians, NorthAmoans, Chilis, Brazzos, Jappers, Chinasians, Ozzers, Russdkas, and other foreign elements were allowed into Argentine airspace.

    @Martillazo:

Very good. Your command of Catala is so much better than mine. One of the things I wan to do is to learn Catala. I do not speak it and my grandparents have passed away many, but many years ago. However, what about this:

    Sweet Catalunya
    Country (Motherland) of my love
When I am away from you
I die yearning (longing) for you

or this one (Catalunya National Anthem):

    Catalunya triomfant,
tornarà a ser rica i plena.
    Endarrera aquesta gent
    tan ufana i tan superba.

    Com fem caure espigues d'or,
    quan convé seguem cadenes.

    (Translation)

    Catalonia triumphant
shall again be rich and bountiful.
    Drive away these people,
Who are so conceited and so arrogant.

    Strike with your sickle!
Strike with your sickle, defenders of the land!
    Strike with your sickle!
    Now is the time, reapers.
Now is the time to stand alert.
    For when another June comes,
Let us sharpen our tools well.

    May the enemy tremble,
    upon seeing our symbol.
Just as we cut golden ears of wheat,
when the time calls we cut off chains.

Has he ever paid back the money he “ cheated ” out of the tax authorities or did he spend it on his wedding?

Ask the same question to Florentino Perez. Messi was cleared of all wrong doing. However, Mr. Perez, President of Real Madrid and owner of a construction company that employs over 100,000 people, asked to Mr Aznar, a previous Spanish head of state, and the latter talked to the DA, and they reopened the case. Keep in mind that Messi followed the advice of their Tax consultants. The problem lies with their promotions rights outside Spain. Little knowledge is bliss.

BTW, Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of Real Madrid and one of Florentino's favorites, is under a much worse offense with the tax authorities. Nothing will happen to him. You know Florentino and all. In addition, Messi has paid everything he was asked for by the fisco and then some.

Do you have any derogatory comments on Mother Theresa or the Present Pope. Maybe the Pope since he is Argentine. Just suck on a lemon to make you a bit sweeter.

Oh diddums Hektor did I upset you? Never mind old son.I have nothing against Argies per say, but I do find them liars and corrupt and terribly arrogant and always blame someone else. Why do you bring religion into the thread, it has nothing to do with it. It is fair to say that I do not follow blindly any religion.Thank God.

I am glad you have nothing against “Argies.” Do you understand how ridiculous and biased you sound? I have nothing to add; you said it all.

Hektor, Messi was found guilty as charged and was given a 21 month sentence and fined 2.1 million Euros, his father was also guilty as charged and was given a 21 month sentence and fined 1.6 million Euros. Just get your facts right, Oh sorry, you are Argentine after all.
