Quite agree. Out of the EU and back into the world. we are members of bigger institutions and grouping eg, The Commonwealth, and as an independent sovereign nation we can make decisions for ourselves.

In retrospect May's decision to make Boris Foreign Secretary probably was an early sign of her lack of good judgement.

Not any worse than the EU lawmakers, the EU must audit their accounts before the UK pays them a penny. Let's see where the money the UK contributes goes.

@Demon Tree, I see you are another under estimator. Boris is a very smart cookie. don't be fooled. The EU keeps threatening us, why would we want to part of such a corrupt and anti British club. I would rather him than those appeasers who would sell us down the drain.

Oh I don't think Boris is a fool. After all, if Gove hadn't stabbed him in the back there's a good chance he'd be PM right now.

I think he choose to support Brexit based on what was best for Boris rather than what was best for Britain, and he campaigned by telling egregious lies, such as that we could both control immigration and stay in the single market. Just being smart isn't enough of a qualification for me.

You can negotiate and stick to your positions without insulting anyone, threatening and blustering is not a successful strategy unless you can back it up. A little goodwill goes a long way in talks. And the EU is not really anti-British. It is pro-member states and it wants to discourage other members from leaving, but it has no animus against Britain specifically.
